How to be Saved

In the depths of our human existence, we find ourselves engulfed by the pervasive darkness of sin. Each of us, without exception, stands condemned before the holy throne of God. As Paul so wisely proclaimed, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). This verse echoes through the corridors of time, piercing our souls with the truth that we are hopelessly lost in the mire of our transgressions.

Behold, the insidious root of sin extends its grip over all humanity. Paul rightly proclaimed, “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). From the moment of Adam’s fall, sin’s venomous poison infected every heart, rendering us powerless to save ourselves.

In the light of divine revelation, we discover that not a single person is righteous on their own merits. As Paul declared, “There is no one righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10). Every thought, every word, every deed falls short of the perfect standard of God’s holiness. We are left utterly defenseless against the weight of our own guilt.

Yet, my friend, do not lose hope in this dark hour. For there is a glimmer of light amidst the impenetrable gloom. Let us heed the words of John, who confessed, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8). Acknowledge your sinful nature, embrace the truth of your condition, and cast yourself upon the mercy of God.

The veil of condemnation hangs heavy over our heads, but in the midst of our despair, the gospel unveils a pathway to redemption. Hear the glorious words penned by the Apostle Paul, “The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:7-8). Our feeble attempts to appease God through our own strength and works will always fall short. We need a Savior!

Oh, the wretched state of our hearts, constantly at war with the desires of the flesh. As Paul agonizingly expressed, “For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me” (Romans 7:19-20). The struggle against sin rages within us, rendering us helpless before its onslaught.

But do not despair, for there is One who can rescue us from this body of death. “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:25). Salvation is found in Christ alone, who bore the weight of our sins upon the cross, offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice. His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness, and through faith in Him, we find redemption, forgiveness, and eternal life.

Look to the cross, my friend. Behold the crucified Savior, who took upon Himself the penalty of sin that we deserved. Embrace His gift of salvation with a repentant heart, confessing your sins and surrendering your life to Him. As Spurgeon once said, “The way of salvation is by faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone.”

Oh, the wonder of God’s grace! Though we were unworthy, Christ’s sacrifice has opened the door to reconciliation with the Father. Through faith, we are justified, declared righteous in God’s sight. His righteousness is imputed to us, covering our transgressions and granting us access to His eternal kingdom.

The message of salvation is a call to surrender, a call to repentance, and a call to faith in the finished work of Christ. May these words stir your heart and guide your steps toward the saving knowledge of Jesus. Embrace Him as your Lord and Savior, and you will experience the transformative power of His grace.

May the Holy Spirit illuminate your heart and lead you to the everlasting arms of Jesus.

Just ask Jesus to forgive your sin, believe He is the risen Son of God, and ask Him to live in you. The Holy Spirit will give you the strength to sin no more and teach you the character and ways of God. You will never ever regret your decision….ever!

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.

How to Stay Saved

Having tasted the sweetness of salvation in Christ, it is of utmost importance that we grasp the weighty truth of how to stay saved. The journey of faith does not end with a one-time decision; rather, it is a lifelong pilgrimage of surrender, growth, and perseverance. Let us delve into the depths of Scripture, guided by the eternal truths contained within.

First and foremost, we must anchor ourselves in the unshakable foundation of God’s Word. Spurgeon ardently preached, “The Bible is God’s voice to the human soul. It tells us of our need for salvation, and it reveals the way to eternal life.” The Scriptures are a lamp unto our feet, a guide that leads us in the paths of righteousness. Immerse yourself in the Word, for it is through its timeless truths that we find wisdom, strength, and spiritual nourishment.

In the pursuit of staying saved, prayer must become the very breath of our souls. Billy Graham once declared, “Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness.” Through prayer, we commune with our Heavenly Father, pouring out our hearts, seeking His guidance, and surrendering our lives anew each day. Develop a habit of prayer, for it is the channel through which we experience the transformative power of God in our lives.

To remain steadfast in our salvation, we must cultivate a vibrant relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Spurgeon exhorted, “If Christ is not all to you, He is nothing to you. You must be married to Him, be one with Him, be made like Him, be a complete image of Him.” Cultivate intimacy with Jesus through daily fellowship, seeking His face, and cultivating a heart of worship. Allow His love to captivate your affections and let His Spirit shape you into His likeness.

Furthermore, we must guard our hearts and minds against the allurements of this world. Billy Graham wisely cautioned, “The greatest form of praise is the sound of consecrated feet seeking out the lost and helpless.” We are called to be in the world but not of it, resisting the temptations that surround us. Surround yourself with godly influences, immerse yourself in wholesome and edifying pursuits, and flee from the snares of sin that seek to entangle us.

A vital aspect of staying saved is active participation in the body of Christ, the Church. Spurgeon emphasized, “The Church of Christ is continually represented under the figure of an army; yet its Captain is the Prince of Peace; its object is the establishment of peace, and its soldiers are men of a peaceful disposition.” Engage in fellowship, serve with love and humility, and partake in the sacraments. It is within the community of believers that we find encouragement, accountability, and the strength to persevere.

Moreover, we must be vigilant in guarding our hearts against the attacks of the enemy. Billy Graham admonished, “The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes and say, ‘O God, forgive me,’ or ‘Help me.’” Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, sowing doubts, and tempting us to compromise our faith. Clothe yourself in the armor of God, stand firm in the truth, and rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to resist the enemy’s schemes.

Lastly, let us fix our gaze on the ultimate prize, our eternal home in the presence of God. Spurgeon exclaimed, “Heaven is worth whatever it costs us to obtain it.” Keep the hope of heaven burning brightly in your heart, for it fuels our perseverance in times of trial. Remember that our salvation is secure in Christ, and as we press on in faith, the Holy Spirit empowers us to run the race with endurance, knowing that a crown of glory awaits us in the presence of our Savior.

Staying saved is not a burden to bear alone but a journey of grace, guided by the principles of Scripture and the wisdom of those who have gone before us. Embrace the Word of God, remain steadfast in prayer, cultivate a vibrant relationship with Jesus, guard your heart, engage in the community of believers, resist the enemy’s attacks, and fix your gaze on the eternal prize. May these truths permeate your life, enabling you to walk faithfully in the salvation you have received.

With fervent prayers for your spiritual journey,

Rapture and End Times
