Discussing current events and how they relate to Biblical prophesy. What are some critical signs are pointing to the imminent Rapture of the Church?

Everything is possible to the one who believes. (Mark 9:23)

.

Kathryn Kuhlman was an American Christian evangelist who hosted healing services and is best known as a ‘faith healer’.

Kuhlman had a weekly TV program in the 1960s and 1970s called ‘I Believe In Miracles’ that was aired nationally. She also had a 30-minute nationwide radio program, which featured sermons and, frequently, excerpts from her healing services (in music and message). Her foundation was established in 1954, and its Canadian branch in 1970. Late in her life she was supportive of the nascent Jesus movement.

An estimated two million people reported that they were healed in her meetings over the years. Many believers uphold Kuhlman as an important forerunner to the present-day charismatic movement.

.

Today we embark on a journey through the annals of time, tracing the delicate threads of miracles woven into the grand tapestry of human history. In the pages of the Old and New Testaments, we witness the awe-inspiring power of our Creator, manifesting in miraculous interventions that transcend the limitations of our earthly realm. As we delve into these sacred narratives, we shall unfurl the beauty and significance of miracles, understanding how they continue to unfold in our lives today. Just as Kathryn Kuhlman passionately proclaimed, “Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see,” let us unveil the narrative of miracles, both ancient and modern.

.

Miracles of the Old Testament

The dawn of creation saw God’s miraculous handiwork, as He breathed life into existence and painted the cosmos with stars. From the miraculous birth of Isaac to the parting of the Red Sea, the Old Testament is replete with divine interventions that transcended natural law. In the heart of the wilderness, manna rained down from heaven, sustaining the Israelites during their journey. The walls of Jericho crumbled at the sound of a trumpet, attesting to the supernatural power that accompanied the faith of the faithful.

The story of David and Goliath stands as a timeless testament to God’s ability to empower the seemingly weak to triumph over the mighty. The fiery furnace that refused to consume Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and the dreams interpreted by Joseph, all serve as markers of God’s miraculous involvement in human affairs. These Old Testament miracles, while distant in time, continue to echo the enduring truth that God’s power knows no bounds, and His miraculous touch remains accessible to His children today.

.

Miracles of the New Testament

As we turn the pages to the New Testament, a new era of miracles unfolds before us. The miraculous birth of Jesus, conceived by the Holy Spirit, signaled the arrival of the Messiah foretold by prophets. Jesus’ earthly ministry was marked by miracles that defied logic and shattered the confines of natural law. He healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, and even raised the dead, demonstrating that His divine authority extended over both the physical and spiritual realms.

The feeding of the multitude with a few loaves and fishes symbolized Christ’s ability to provide abundantly for His followers. The calming of the stormy seas and the walking on water revealed His dominion over nature’s elements.

The pinnacle of the New Testament miracles culminated in the resurrection of Jesus, a miracle that forever changed the course of human history and paved the way for the gift of salvation.

Miracles Today: A Continuation of Divine Grace

But do miracles cease with the closing of the biblical canon? No, for the God of miracles remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Just as Kathryn Kuhlman ardently proclaimed, “Miracles are the natural order of things,” we must recognize that the miraculous is woven into the very fabric of existence. Miracles are not merely historical anecdotes but living testimonies of God’s active engagement with His creation.

In our modern world, testimonies abound of miraculous healings, divine interventions, and supernatural encounters. Countless souls have been touched by the hand of the Almighty, finding hope in the midst of despair and light in the darkest of times. Medical diagnoses defied, relationships restored, addictions broken – these are but a few examples of the transformative power of miracles in our lives today.

Miracles are not limited by the constraints of time or culture. They transcend religious boundaries, uniting humanity in the awe-inspiring presence of the divine. Miracles serve as beacons of hope, guiding us through the tumultuous seas of life and reminding us that the hand of God is ever outstretched, ready to lead us to shores of peace and restoration.

.

The Role of Faith and Surrender

As we reflect on the tapestry of miracles, both ancient and modern, we cannot overlook the pivotal role of faith. It was faith that propelled Abraham to offer his beloved son, Isaac, as a sacrifice. It was faith that spurred the woman with the issue of blood to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. It is faith that continues to serve as the conduit through which the miraculous unfolds in our lives.

Faith, however, is not a passive endeavor. It requires a surrender of our own will and an alignment with the divine purpose. Just as the widow’s oil multiplied as she poured it out, our acts of surrender pave the way for divine intervention.

Miracles are not confined to the spectacular; they often emerge from the simplicity of obedience and trust.

.

Miracles Unveiled

In the grand symphony of creation, miracles are the harmonious notes that resonate between heaven and earth. From the miraculous accounts of the Old and New Testaments to the present day, we bear witness to a God who delights in revealing His glory through the extraordinary. The threads of miracles, intricately woven into the fabric of history, remind us of the boundless love and power of our Creator.

Let us approach the mysteries of life with hearts aflame with expectancy, for miracles are not relics of the past but living realities in the present. As Kathryn Kuhlman fervently proclaimed, “The only place where you can have heaven on earth is within you.” May we open our hearts to the divine, cultivating a receptive spirit that allows the miraculous to take root and flourish.

Remember that miracles are not confined to a specific era or locale. They are the gentle whispers of a loving Creator, calling us into deeper communion and partnership with Him. Let us embrace the miracles of the Old and New Testaments as an invitation to co-create miracles in our own lives, becoming vessels through which the divine flows.

Keep in mind, the miracles of God are meant to glorify Him and demonstrate His power. Although some may seek signs and wonders, it is the words and teachings of God that truly impact our lives.

May the mosaic of miracles continue to unfurl, revealing the beauty and majesty of a God who is both immanent and transcendent, a God who beckons us to participate in the unfolding narrative of His miraculous grace!

.

Here are five practical takeaways from the fact that God used miracles in the Old and New Testament, and how miracles can happen in our lives today:

1. Deepen Your Faith and Trust The miraculous interventions in the Old and New Testament serve as a foundation for deepening our faith and trust in God. Just as Abraham believed against all odds and Noah followed divine instructions to build the ark, we too can strengthen our faith by embracing God’s promises and stepping out in trust, even when circumstances seem impossible. Recognize that miracles are a testament to God’s faithfulness, and by nurturing a steadfast faith, we open ourselves to experiencing His miraculous hand in our lives today.

2. Expectancy and Prayer The stories of miracles in the Bible encourage us to approach our Heavenly Father with expectation and fervent prayer. Just as Jesus taught His disciples to pray and persist, we too can engage in a life of consistent and heartfelt prayer. Prayer creates an environment for miracles to unfold, as it aligns our hearts with God’s will and invites His intervention in our circumstances. Practice persistent and faith-filled prayer, knowing that our God is attentive to the cries of His children.

3. Act in Obedience Miracles often follow acts of obedience. From Moses stretching out his staff to divide the Red Sea to the disciples casting their nets on the other side of the boat, obedience positions us to receive God’s supernatural blessings. In our lives, we can practice obedience by aligning our choices and actions with God’s Word. By living in accordance with His principles, we create space for divine intervention and open ourselves to the miraculous.

4. Compassion and Love Jesus’ ministry was marked by compassion and love, which often led to miraculous healings and transformations. As we reflect on His example, we are inspired to embody compassion in our interactions with others. Acts of kindness, empathy, and love can pave the way for miraculous encounters, both for ourselves and those around us. Reach out to those in need, extend a helping hand, and cultivate a heart of compassion, knowing that God’s miraculous touch can flow through acts of love.

5. Remain Open to the Supernatural Miracles are a reminder that God’s power extends beyond the natural realm. Embrace a posture of openness to the supernatural, recognizing that God can work in ways that defy human understanding. Be attuned to His promptings and leading, and be willing to step out of your comfort zone as He guides. The miraculous often occurs when we allow God to stretch our boundaries and lead us into uncharted territory.

Incorporating these practical takeaways into your life can create an environment where miracles are more likely to manifest. As you deepen your faith, engage in fervent prayer, act in obedience, express compassion, and remain open to the supernatural, you position yourself to experience the awe-inspiring power of God’s miracles in your own journey. Just as the Old and New Testaments are marked by divine interventions, so too can our lives be marked by the miraculous, if we are willing to align ourselves with God’s purposes and embrace His extraordinary grace.

If you are not sure that you are saved, you can accept Christ into your life right now, by praying:

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.  Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life.  I ask you into my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior.”
