FTW NOTE: They are at least talking about some trial dates THIS MONTH, after stonewalling for five months, and zero communications. PRAISE GOD! Things are moving, and it sounds like Gonzalo Lira is at least still with us.
The SBU commented on Elon Musk’s statement regarding the American Gonzalo Lira, who was arrested in Ukraine. Let us remember that Musk called on Zelensky to explain why exactly Lira was detained and is now in a Ukrainian prison.
“In May 2023, the SBU exposed a blogger in the Kharkov region with dual citizenship (Chile and the United States), who systematically justified Russian aggression in Ukraine and disseminated pro-Russian theses on his social networks. In his videos, he recognized Russia’s aggression in Ukraine as legitimate, denied Russia’s war crimes, and also argued that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were shelling their own territory, and that a neo-Nazi regime reigned in Ukraine.
According to current legislation, such activity is a criminal offense, which is provided for in Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants). The SBU documented the suspect’s subversive activities and informed the blogger of the suspicion.
