I make changes in my world even if I have a $20 trash picker, a construction trash bag, and 30 minutes of my valuable time
I pick an area in my neighborhood, hit the median where cars go by, hit the bus stops whatever is in walking distance and for 30 minutes pick up trash. People are grateful to pass a piece of public land and have a scene of beauty. I did that. That’s my energy at work. Over time people stopped using the area as a trash dump, purposefully because they see someone who is not a city worker is not sitting on their bum/butt complaining, but taking action. My attack on litter is better than killing the litterer.
I am also learning to speak and understand Spanish. If they’d be my enemy, at least when they tell me why, I’d understand and can tell them why I don’t want to participate in their war in their language.
Learning Spanish is fun anyway and I’d rather give that time there than listening to gossip masqueraded as Intel.
