The Bible, Paul & Truth: Is There A Difference?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

That’s certainly an interesting question to ponder. Millions of people who follow Jesus Christ, and study the Bible, love Paul and the lessons he preached in his epistles. Why? Some of the lessons he wrote in his epistles, impart to the reader a great deal of confidence and comfort. For instance, Paul wrote in:

Romans 5:8-12, “Christ died for us, and being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him, for we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, and we shall be saved by his life, by believing in Him, being righteous and following His Gospel, and not only that, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received atonement;” and in

Romans 10:9-10, “if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” and in

1 Corinthians 5:7, “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.”

These are just a few of the Verses within Paul’s epistles that convey a very, very powerful and convincing message, which any person of sound mind, would gladly cling to; for the meaning brought forth in those Verses, instills a conviction in the reader that their salvation has been guaranteed through their belief in Christ’s crucifixion.

There are many people who vehemently defend Paul’s teachings, and I can readily understand why – for Paul’s lessons basically gave them carte blanche salvation, a free ticket into the Kingdom of Heaven if you will, even it they didn’t earn it, or deserve it; all they had to do was confess and believe in Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice to absolve mankind of their sins.

Before going on, I want to share a statement made by Clement of Rome, the first Church Father, who was appointed by Apostle Peter. This statement is contained in The Clementine Homilies, “There is a certain great difference between truth and custom. For truth is found when it is honestly sought; but custom, whatsoever be the character of the custom received, whether true or false, is strengthen by itself without the exercise of judgment; and he who has received it is neither pleased with it as being true, nor grieved with it as false. For such an one has believed not by judgment, but by prejudice, resting his own hope on the opinion of those who have lived before him on a mere peradventure. And it is not easy to cast off the ancestral garment, though it be shown to himself to be wholly foolish and ridiculous.”

Clement’s statement can certainly apply to those who vehemently defend Paul’s teachings within the Bible, for even though they are in the Bible, they still qualify as secondhand information. Why? Unless one, through their own due diligence, determines that Paul’s teachings are fact, then they have, as Clement so aptly wrote, without exercise of judgment, accepted them as reality.

There are two writings I will share with you which provide indisputable evidence that some of Paul’s preachings are in fact, not fact, and unfortunately, those of his preachings that are not fact, have a direct impact upon a soul’s salvation. The first writing I want to share with you is The Clementine Homilies, which I have already mentioned, and the second is the Gospel of the Holy Twelve. In addition to the doctrine he preached, The Clementine Homilies also contains one of Apostle Peter’s epistles, which in and of itself is very revealing. The Gospel of the Holy Twelve was written by Apostle John, while he was incarcerated, and once it was completed, he ordered it hidden to protect it from falsification (proof of that is available upon request). The teachings within The Clementine Homilies and the Gospel of the Holy Twelve, compliment each other, and these writings contain doctrine that was not approved by the First Council of Nicaea 325 AD, which had been convened and presided over by Roman Emperor Constantine.

Contrary to Paul’s teachings, Jesus taught in Lection 33:1-3 that no blood offering of beast or bird, or man, can take away sin, and He taught in Lection 93:1-2, God forgives all sin to those who repent, but as ye sow, so also must ye reap. Jesus clarified the meaning of, “but as ye sow, so also must ye reap,” when He taught that the fruits of the sin must continue for a season, for as one sows, so must they reap. Jesus said that God is not mocked, and they who sow to the flesh, shall reap corruption, and they who sow to the spirit, shall reap life everlasting.

Jesus also made it very clear in Lection 93:1-2, that any who repent and forsake their sins, and the penitent tells them thy sins are forgiven thee, they are loosed from it. But He also said that those who continue it are bound to the sin. In addition, Jesus preached in several Lections throughout the Gospel of the Holy Twelve, that those who sought to be forgiven sins, and were forgiven, and then committed one or more of them again, would have been better off had they not asked for forgiveness to begin with.

In conclusion, Paul’s teachings give the reader the confidence that their confession and belief in Jesus, plus believing in His gift of salvation through His sacrifice on the cross, basically assures their entry into the Kingdom of Heaven.

On the other hand, Jesus taught mankind the way to earn their salvation, which requires not only belief in Him and His Father, it also requires personal sacrifice and strict adherence to Their Commandments. In addition, Jesus never preached that He would die on the cross to redeem mankind from theirs sins, but He did preach that He came to fulfill Old Testament scripture, as it is written in John 19:28-30, of the KJV. However, nowhere within the scripture that Jesus fulfilled, did it state the Messiah would die to save mankind from their sins.

When it comes to my soul’s salvation, I will follow the teachings of Jesus and Apostle Peter, and completely discount Paul’s second hand information that is contrary to their teachings. Here’s something for your intense consideration: Jesus told His Disciples that His Doctrine would be changed, and things would be taught in His Name that He did not teach, and He told them that the children of the wicked one would be responsible; being that is fact, who do you think will benefit most from a soul following false doctrine? What ever, it’s all been claimed before in much older belief systems.

“Prof. Franz Cumont, of the University of Ghent, writes as follows concerning the religion of Mithra and the religion of Christ: “The sectaries of the Persian god, like the Christians’, purified themselves by baptism, received by a species of confirmation the power necessary to combat the spirit of evil; and expected from a Lord’s supper salvation of body and soul. Like the latter, they also held Sunday sacred, and celebrated the birth of the Sun on the 25th of December…. They both preached a categorical system of ethics, regarded asceticism as meritorious and counted among their principal virtues abstinence and continence, renunciation and self-control. Their conceptions of the world and of the destiny of man were similar. They both admitted the existence of a Heaven inhabited by beatified ones, situated in the upper regions, and of a Hell, peopled by demons, situated in the bowels of the Earth. They both placed a flood at the beginning of history; they both assigned as the source of their condition, a primitive revelation; they both, finally, believed in the immortality of the soul, in a last judgment, and in a resurrection of the dead, consequent upon a final conflagration of the universe” (The Mysteries of Mithras, pp. 190, 191).

Reverend Charles Biggs stated: “The disciples of Mithra formed an organized church, with a developed hierarchy. They possessed the ideas of Mediation, Atonement, and a Savior, who is human and yet divine, and not only the idea, but a doctrine of the future life. They had a Eucharist, and a Baptism, and other curious analogies might be pointed out between their system and the church of Christ (The Christian Platonists, p. 240).

Think about that last quote and in particular who is saying it. Because he is a Christian reverend he has everything to lose and nothing to gain, as such it’s very qualified.
