Benny Hinn's Son Arrested for Allegedly Beating Up Deaf and Blind Man at Crusade

We usually think of Benny Hinn Crusades as events where the sick get healed, but this past weekend a deaf and blind man was taken to the hospital after a reported attack by Benny’s 21 year-old son.

The American minister was speaking in Brazil when a local pastor, Hestephenson Araujo, approached the platform with a bottle of water.  Araujo says he was only looking for a blessing, but Joshua Hinn and two bodyguards claim they thought he was about to throw the liquid at the $42 million televangelist.

The three reportedly pounced on Araujo and held him captive in an off-stage trailer, where they allegedly beat and punched him, demanding to know who he was.  Police say the attacks continued because the deaf and blind man could not respond.

Joshua Hinn and the bodyguards were interrogated at police headquarters.  Officers say Araujo’s father reached an agreement not to press charges in exchange for a “large sum of money.”  His 21 year-old son was treated and released at the hospital.
