I have heard people say “How can I know which religion is the right one? I would have to study them all to find out”. To answer this I will outline the main difference between Christianity and the three other most popular religions, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. The 2012 figures show the following world religion percentages: Christianity 33% Muslim 23% Hindu 14% Buddhist 7% and many others in smaller percentages. In one sense all religions are similar because they deal with a “god” or “gods” who are superior to us and live in another realm. They each have their versions of why we are here and what happens to us after death, and they have a book or books that form the foundation of their beliefs. And they were started by a spiritual leader who developed a following.
What is totally different about Christianity is who Jesus claimed to be, what he did, and why he came. Compared to all other religions, Jesus was the only one that claimed to be the Son of God and called God his Father. Jesus was the only one who was born of a virgin. Jesus was with God before he came to earth. Through Jesus all things were created, things in heaven and on earth. Jesus was also the only one that knew what he was sent to earth to do: He came to die willingly for our sins so that we could be forgiven. This is the biggest difference between what Jesus did for us and what Muhammad, Buddha, Krishna, or any other spiritual leader did. None of them died for anyone. Jesus was the only one that lived a sinless life. Jesus also was the only one that performed miracles compared to the other spiritual leaders. Jesus was the only one that healed the blind, the crippled, and the sick. Jesus was also the only one that was resurrected from the dead and went up to heaven to be with His Father. Jesus was also the only one that said he will come back again to set up his kingdom on this earth for 1000 years. Jesus was the only one that promised us eternal life with God.
This is the biggest difference between Christianity and all other religions. Muhammad was a man, Buddha was a man, but Jesus was both God and Man. He was the Son of Man and the Son of God. Most religions were started by someone who claimed to have had either a vision or a message from god. Jesus never made that claim. He said that he was from heaven and He came to teach us about his Father. Muhammad, Buddha, and Joseph Smith did not say they were from heaven.
Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with a loving God and his Son Jesus Christ who died for us so that all who choose to accept His forgiveness for their sins may be forgiven and have a personal relationship with Jesus throughout their life and spend eternity with God when they die. A religion does not give one that privilege. It only gives one the hope that their god will be pleased with them and with how they lived their life
and the hope that a better place awaits them when they die. Christians don’t have to hope, they KNOW, because God has made them a promise that if they believe in His Son Jesus, they will spend eternity with Him and God always keeps his promise. God also gave Christians the Holy Spirit who testifies with their spirit that they are children of God.
There are many differences between being a Christian and being religious. Most religions consist of rules of conduct, what you can and can’t do, and even what you can and can’t eat or drink. Jesus gave his followers only one rule to follow: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27) Christianity is all about loving God and loving people.
The best way to find out more about Christianity and what you think of Jesus is to read the New Testament. You can get one at any bookstore or online and if you read just the first four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John you will find out who Jesus was, why he came, and what he did. Jango cannot understand that people who do evil are not of God. Those who are of God will listen to apostle John, 1 John 4:6 and 3 John 1:11. The 13th self-proclaimed apostle to the Gentiles teaches that there is a basis upon which one can do evil deeds and still be of God (Romans 7:16-25), which is a lie. The true apostle John and Christ himself (John 3:19-21), says those who do evil are not of God. Paul the Pharisee says he does evil, serves sin in his flesh, blames his evil deeds on sin in the flesh that does the sinning. You can open any anthropology, theology, or history textbook and find tons of evidence of how almost all religions share very close attributes that ultimately derive from ancient civilizations interpretation of the stars. Attis

This explanation is not only over simplified, but inaccurate. Attis was not necessarily born of a virgin (because it does not say whether or not his mother is a virgin), in fact Attis was born of Nana after she ate the fruit of an almond tree which had been grown from the blood of either Agdistis or Cybele. Attis was worshipped as the god of vegetation, responsible for death and rebirth of plant life. It was thought that each winter he died and in the spring he was reborn. Each spring his resurrection would be celebrated. It goes without saying that spring does not take place in December, nor is the change of seasons a crucifixion, there is no mention of any tombs anywhere, and seeing how he is dead all winter, it goes without saying that winter is longer than 3 days.
Krishna
Krishna, of India, born of the virgin Devaki with a star in the east signaling his coming, performed miracles with his disciples, and upon his death was resurrected.
Traditional belief based on scriptural details and astrological calculations gives Krishna’s birth date (Janmashtami) as 19th or 21st July 3228 BC. Krishna was of the royal family of Mathura, and was the eighth son born to the princess Devaki, and her husband Vasudeva. According to references in the Bhagavata Purana and Bhagavad Gita it has been interpreted that Krishna died around 3100 BC. There is no mention of a star in the east signaling his birth in the literature, nor was not resurrected upon his death. There is, however some evidence in various tales that he did perform miracles, but that’s it.
Dionysus
Dionysus of Greece, born of a virgin on December 25th, was a traveling teacher who performed miracles such as turning water into wine, he was referred to as the “King of Kings,” “God’s Only Begotten Son,” “The Alpha and Omega,” and many others, and upon his death, he was resurrected.
He was not born to a virgin, his mother was a mortal Semele (daughter of Cadmus) and his father was Zeus. We know that Zeus had other male children so Dionysus is also not his “only begotten son”. Similar to the story of Attis, Dionysus died each winter and was resurrected in the spring. Again, this is hardly December, much less the 25th of said month. He did, however perform miracles, mostly things involving wine, because he was the god of wine — naturally he could turn water into wine. The titles listed above, such as “King of Kings” and “The Alpha and Omega” are not sourced in the movie, nor can I find any evidence that these titles ever applied to Dionysus, but for good measure, I did find “The Alpha and Omega” referring to god of Christianity
Mithra
Mithra, of Persia, born of a virgin on December 25th, he had 12 disciples and performed miracles, and upon his death was buried for 3 days and thus resurrected, he was also referred to as “The Truth,” “The Light,” and many others. Interestingly, the sacred day of worship of Mithra was Sunday.
The myths and legends of Mithra are numerous in amount and span several different cultures. I ran into a brick wall of sorts trying to track down any of this information. I cannot find any evidence of his “birthday” being December 25th, the only dates that correspond to him are his festival on October 8th and another on September 12-16th, and a cattle pairing festival October 12-16. There is absolutely no evidence anywhere that he had 12 disciples or 12 of anything for that matter — no Mithraist scholars seem to know about it. He was not born to a virgin, but rather out of solid rock. I guess you could say a rock is a virgin, but that seems like a long shot. Also, for the sake of further information, he was born fully grown . There is no evidence of a resurrection or that Mithra has ever died [26]. Roman Mithraic evidence dates to at least a century after the time of the New Testament. As stated earlier, the history of this god is highly complex and covers a lot of area. It is true that Sunday was a sacred day for Mithra, but only to Romans.

A man who presumes that his understanding of the written Word is flawless and unimpeachable, and that all other divergent or dissenting views are erroneous, if not Satanic, has deluded himself into thinking that he is safe from danger which pursues him unawares. This is why humility is so important. A truly humble man KNOWS that he is not in possession of a perfect understanding of Scriptures. A truly humble man will always consider the possibility that he is wrong. Your arrogance has convinced you that you are infallible.

I believe it was the Catholics who carried out the holy wars. Christians have been persecuted since Jesus appeared and left . The Catholics do not read the bible, they have other books, and they distinctly go against Jesus’ command to call no one Father. I am so tired of all the arguing. Even the christians fail to realize that without repentance, you cannot even begin to see.
Here’s a little experiment. Walk into a dark room from a light room, do you notice that everything begins to get harder to see and the further you walk the darker and more shrouded things get. Now, immediately turn around and start walking towards the room with the light, things become clearer and clearer until you reach the full light. Without repentance, you wander around in the darkness. You need to abandon the thing that you are doing that makes you feel bad and act more in accordance with what makes you feel good. This is only a start.
I guarantee that no true believer in Christ murdered anyone. The Catholic church have muddied the water for every non believer. How many catholics got thrown to the lions? The only reference to Christians being persecuted was from a Romano-Jewish historian Flavius Josephus who wrote the word ‘crestus’ meaning good people as being fed to the lions. Of which the early church (4th century CE) have a 4th century copy where the word had been changed to ‘cristus’ to give the impression he was talking about Christians. Rome fed Jews to the lions, because they refused to bow down to the emperor, considered living gods. There is no historical mention of Christianity until its invention in the 4th century.
