It was never created to ensure that anyone with religious BELIEFS not be connected to the government. That is a manipulation of language used to trick you into persecuting religious people. The separation of Church and State was written to prevent state sanctioned religions (like Catholicism) from being able to restrict other religions (like Protestant for example). I agree generally, but America didn’t invent secularism. Governments tend to support ideas that lead to idiocy, because idiots are easy to manipulate, it’s as simple as that.
