Here is a discussion plan for this Friday night bible study:

What do these bible verses have on common?

Ephesians 2:10

 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Psalm 119:11

  I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

  pray continually,

2 Timothy 2:15

 Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

What do these verses havr in common?

Answer:  They all require an input of time to do them.

Possible discussion questions:

How do you live out these verses?

What good works do you believe God has prepared for you to do and what are you doing to make this a reality in your life?

Do you devote time for good works, prayer, thinking about truth, and personal bible study?

Foot note:  The can of mountain dew is a visual (“do the Dew” – Be a doer of the word).  You probably want to be sipping on one as you lead the discussion amd make sure you bring enough for everyone. I nice little visual, yes?

Next you may want to pass out copies of the picture below or a modified version for students.  Perhaps a weekly version:

Ask the group how much time they “invest” in TV watching.  How does this compare with time spent being a doer?
