The need and the method of talking to God.

The lexicon of Christian worship is extensive, if not well known, and encompasses hymns and prayers which find their origin in ages past and up to and including the present.
Many prayers, such as the “Psalms” are derived from the Bible itself, the Book, or the Good Book, because it contains the words of life.
Some prayers are endowed with much grace and this derives from the powerful meaning of the words, in the spiritual life.
But God is also a personal God and he takes our own words, no matter how simple, as precious because they reflect who we are and what we are and they express and help form our relationship with the Almighty. 
They are based on a pure heart, at least in that moment when it counts most.
Prayer leads us to reform our lives and discard that which is destructive. This must be seen as a necessary but gradual process and we find time to pray anywhere, anytime and for any need in or purpose for our lives, but without distractions which can ruin prayer and thought, the thought that goes into prayer.
If we can just switch off from all the distractions, so much the better.
Prayer can be as small as a couple of words or as long as a diary entry, depending on what we have to say, what our needs are and also as long as it takes to express our gratitude towards God, who is like us in every way except sin, even though he is all powerful. So thanks are essential and an essential part of prayer.
Knowing this enables us pray confidently, sincerely and honestly, respectfully and worshipfully.
Both Father and Son ask us to enter in to a relationship as son and brother, so there is no need to fear. There is no need to be hesitant, and there is no room for doubt.
