Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Must Go

United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell caused the U.S. Senate to pass the largest number of most ill-conceived legislation by a lame-duck Congress in modern times. Therefore, Senator Mitch McConnell must not be re-elected as the GOP’s minority leader. Where was he during the short time period between the November 2, 2010, avalanche and today (12/24/10)? Why did he allow all of those terrible spending legislation to be passed by the runaway Senate? What has this man been doing? He should have opposed and stopped every piece of legislation that will be spending money that we do not have.  Instead he allowed all lame-duck Congress legislation to pass.  The most egregious one is the ratification of the START on which he voted “not present”!  What!  What kind of leader is he, anyway?

Where was the minority leader in the Senate? Why did Mitch McConnell not take charge and get ALL Repugnants to vote against the ill-conceived START? If McConnell does not shape up before January 3, 2011, and take charge of the Republican Senate Caucus, then he should not serve any longer. He has the potential of becoming a great Senate minority leader, but he must do whatever is required to preserve the USA as we know it. He cannot and must not avoid voting on these important pieces of legislation. Voting “not present” is a major sin in leadership politics. Is he a leader or not! Just getting along with the progressive Democrats to pass ill-conceived legislation is not what We the People want. Shape up Senator McConnell!

The two RINO traitors in the form of Mitch McConnell – KY and John McCain – AZ were too chicken (yellow bellies) to cast a vote. J.D. Hayworth should have beaten McCain on the last election on November 2, 2010. However, McCain moved so far right and, thus, hoodwinked the voters of Arizona. They re-elected that man who should have been defeated by the more constitutional conservative J.D. Hayworth. McConnell and McCain took the typical Obama “not present” vote. That is the most disgusting display of incompetence I have ever heard and seen!

From this day forward, McConnell must do the following or relinquish his leadership position in the Senate:

• Get all Repugnants in the Senate to vote as a totally united block.
• Oppose all legislation that spends any money as much as a dollar unnecessarily. Examples include all of the legislation passed by the lame-duck Congress.
• Get up-or-down votes on all important legislation.
• Get all pieces of legislation read totally through before it is ever voted on.
• Change the rules to require five working days for everyone to read all bills introduced for action.
• Filibuster all spending legislation. If all legislation that was passed by the lame-duck Congress was read and filibustered, they would not have been able to have the time to consider all of them that passed.
• Do not allow any more “not present” voting by all GOP members of the Senate.
• Submit a bill to eliminate all future lame-duck Congresses. In other words, send everyone home instead of meeting to pass all of those ridiculous bills that were passed by the 111th Congress in the last two months of 2010.

If Senator McConnell refuses to do all of these things, I strongly encourage all GOP senators to elect someone else to take the minority leader’s position so that no more shenanigans will be conducted in the next two years. A good candidate would be to elect Senator Jim DeMint as the next GOP Minority Leader. Jim DeMint has the right ideas to cut taxes, eliminate all ridiculous spending, and eliminate all earmarks and pork barrel projects. We need someone in there who will be responsive to We the People and not a patsy for the Progressive Democrat Party.
