ANIMAL CRUELTY IN TENNESSEE - UPDATE 22 APRIL 2013 - WHAT WENT ON?
Meet Bosco, I wish I could say “Meet Bosco”, but Bosco was a victim of a flawed system. You see, we don’t know how or why Bosco was at the Adrian Baird Animal Center, better known as the Campbell County Animal Shelter, wither he was surrendered by his owner or picked up by an Animal Control Officer, regardless, Bosco was there.
As you can see from the photos taken July 30,2012, Bosco was deemed ready, was 2 years old, housebroken, neutered and listed as a English Bulldog. As he was already neutered, his adoption fee would have only been $15.
After his photo was published on Facebook, a family went to the shelter and spent time with him, and wanted to adopt him…only to be told there was a 5 day hold on him…after his cage tag clearly stated he was ready!
Everyone who had contact with Bosco, and there are several people who visited the shelter while he was there, stated they were impressed by his gentleness and demure presence, one even commented he had excellent manners.
Several days later, after being contacted, a county official called the shelter to check the status of Bosco, to be told Bosco had been put down for being aggressive!
We don’t know why Bosco was denied the chance for a forever home,little explanation was given, but sadly his life was cut very short, just two years and one does hope that the first part of his life was filled with Love, not like the last weeks of his short life.
