MADISON, Wis. — Call it a tale of two vastly different civil rights complaints.

The first involves the targets of Wisconsin’s political John Doe investigation, what former Federal Election Commission member Hans von Spakovsky has described ass

The second involves a state Supreme Court justice declaring her right to due process was violated by the will of the people of Wisconsin.

Von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow in The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, asserts the former is driven by a case of astounding governmental abuse; the second is tantamount to a “petulant child being deprived of being able to get on the swing on the playground.”

Cindy Archer, former aide to Gov. Scott Walker, last month filed the first state-based civil rights lawsuitagainst the prosecutors and investigators of the years-long John Doe probe. Archer charges that Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm and some of his assistants conducted a “continuous campaign of harassment and intimidation” against conservative individuals and organizations in retaliation for their association with Walker.

Archer’s lawsuit came a couple of weeks before theWisconsin Supreme Court, in a 4-2 ruling, ordered the probe terminated and its illegally seized “evidence” returned to those targeted.   SOURCE
