Dr. Michio Kaku, born January 24, 1947) is an American theoretical physicist, the Henry Semat Professor of Theoretical Physics in the City College of New York of City University of New York, a futurist, and a “communicator” and “popularizer” of science. He has written several books about physics and related topics; he has made frequent appearances on radio, television, and film; and he writes extensive online blogs and articles. He has written two New York Times best sellers, Physics of the Impossible (2008) and Physics of the Future (2011). He has hosted several TV specials for BBC-TV, the Discovery Channel, and the Science Channel.

SPIEGEL: Professor Kaku, in your book you write about how we will be like gods in the future. Are you saying that our grandchildren will be gods? Isn’t that a bit immodest?
Kaku: Just think for a moment about our forefathers in the year 1900. They lived to be 49 years old on average and traveled with horse-drawn wagons. Long distance communication was yelling out the window. If these people could see us today with mobile phones at our ears, Facebook on our screens and traveling with planes they would consider us wizards.

No, our children won’t be like gods. People live longer now than they did in 1900 but do you really want to live longer as an old, sick person? Besides, with obamacare old people won’t get the medical care that they would if they had private insurance. You can forget getting a knee or hip replacement if you’re overweight. Some states have already limited how many medications a person on medicare can receive. Expect life expectancy to go down in the coming years.

The biblical God never intended for human beings to become intelligent creatures. He forbid Eve and Adam to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. A friend of the family (Mr. Devil) was complicit in steering Eve in the right direction and the rest is history. The point is this: The biblical God will have to live with the fact that human beings may be intelligent enough now to literally devise a means of living ‘forever’.

Hahaha no one loves my children more than myself but considering I have known then from the moment of their birth and I have watched them grow I for one am happy their life would come to an end .
