Yahoo Partners with Samsung for Interactive Smart TV
It is expected that the collaboration of Yahoo and Samsung will only restructure the internet company’s interactive TV software to Samsung 2012’s lineup of smart Televisions. Yahoo’s Connected TV has elicited mixed feelings in the past but Samsung apparently seems to think it is supposed to be the next big thing hence the collaboration.
The unique bit of Yahoo Connected TV app is that it allows interactive content on the program you are watching like trivia, program statistics and other playable games. Facebook and Twitter smart TV apps were more old- fashioned. The Yahoo Connected TV app adopts the use of tablet or smartphone as remote for additional interactive content viewing and sharing.
One problem that may face Yahoo Connected TV app is that it allows commercials and ads above what you would be watching and this may cause a little inconvenience. Those already lined up for Programming partnership with Yahoo TV include Showtime and National Geographic TV networks.
