Ex -Yahoo, Oracle and ZipDial Execs Rolls Out New Web-Portal Called FindYogi.com

Anil Bhat, Ankit Govil and Naman Sarawagi, who have collectively worked at some of the largest technology companies have come together to launch FindYogi.com. The web-portal, is aimed at helping consumers make a decision about the brand & model of product they seek.

What does the site offer?

Spread across just four categories at the moment; mobiles, tablets, laptops and cameras, the site serves data about products which fall under these four main types. Though we may be forgiven to think that since going niche & exclusive is the current trend, the site founders have confirmed that, ‘The application is still in its infancy and will become more useful as more data and features get added.’ The 11-membered company has still to secure any seed-funding & is currently running on monetary infusion from friends & family.

We gave the site a visit to verify their mode of operation about helping consumers decide, but found it to be an aggregator of products & their respective prices across e-commerce websites. For example, upon clicking on a product, within the aforementioned category took us to a tally of about 8 e-commerce sites with slightly varying prices for it. The landing page appears to be ‘Featured Products’ listing. We can’t help but think, if we needed such aggregation of listing across e-commerce portals for any particular product, we could head to CompareRaja, PriceBaba or the WiC platform by Simplibuy.

However, the site is still in its infancy & the developers may be in the process of adding features that augment their claim.

Recommendation engines have come up in quite a few numbers recently. Hence we had hoped to find some sort of active interaction model that helped visitors to the site, make a logical & sane decision about multiple products in the same price & category. In fact a while ago Tradus.com had launched a chat feature to allow buyers to interact with sellers to get a clear idea about the product before hitting the ‘Buy’ button.
