Rumors of Apple launching 4.8 inch iPhone Math

Apple is working on launching 4.8 inch iPhone Math phone alongside the iPhone 5S. The name of the device has evoked lots of reactions since it does not seem to match any of Apple’s naming schemes. Some think the name is a code name, the Chinese feel it is a mistranslation while others believe the device will have a completely different name when it is finally launched and in the market.

Latest reports indicate that production of component parts of the device will start in March and assembly of the device will start in April. The production is being handled 90% by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd who will also work on the 4G connectivity. 8 million camera lenses will be produced by Largan while molding perts will be handled by Foxconn Technology and Coxon. Connectors will be provided by Fox Link while Fujikura, Flexium and Zhen Ding will be working on the printed circuit boards.

It has been rumored before that there would be a cheaper iPhone launching at the same time with the iPhone 5S but from the look of things it cannot be iPhone Math with the 4.8 inch. The reverse could be true that the iPhone 5S would be cheaper than iPhone Math, we can only wait for actual details at the launch. The other suspicious rumor about the launch of these 2 phones is that they would both launch in June. It has been Apple’s tradition that they space launch of iPhones at least by a year. However, it has been suggested by even some of the respected analysts like Peter Misek that iPhone could get an update this June. What is given is that at least 1 new iPhone will launch in June. We are yet to be clear about the 4.8 inch touchscreen iPhone Math phone but the rate at which the rumor is circulating is quite tempting. We will wait and see if indeed Apple can launch 2 iPhones this year.
