World won’t End due to Asteroid Apophis in 2036

Apophis will have the closest shave with the Earth on April 13, 2029 which is sure to make a mark among the record keepers. The scientists expect the next major confrontation with the asteroid in 2036 which was previously anticipated to mark the end of life on the Earth. The studies conducted by the scientists now have ruled out the possibility of any kind of damage to the earth due to this close encounter. Near-Earth Object Program Incharge Don Yeomans has confirmed that the Earth will remain safe and sound when the asteroid will brush past it in 2036.

More closely in future, a remotely known asteroid 2012 DA14 will come relatively quite closer to the surface of the Earth in the second fortnight of the next month. The statistics reveal that the asteroid will be at a distance of around 17200 miles from earth. The activities of the Near-earth Objects will be at all-time high as the incidences of asteroids brushing past the Earth will be quite frequent and these encounters can now be enjoyably recorded with the help of advanced telescopes and other recording devices that are making this task more entertaining than time-consuming.

Herschel’s work on the statistics of asteroids using the tools of infra-red properties established many theories revolving around the overall make up of the asteroids. These studies were of significant importance among the astronomy students and researchers and are considered to be the guiding star among researchers who want to take the studies further from where there were left by the ace scientists.

Perhaps, this is the reason that helped the scientists in refining the observations done by Herschel. As a result, the latest change in diameter is recorded to be around 325 m which is more precise from the previous observation recorded at 270m approximately.

The studies conducted on this asteroid believed that it will be of great historical importance for the Planet Earth as it was believed to be the main reason for the ultimate destruction of the home planet.
