Chinese source claims that iPhone 5s and 5-inch iPhone 6 will be launched together in 2013

A Chinese media source has reportedly said that Apple will be launching its iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 simultaneously by the end of the year. The iPhone 5S will look and feel very much like the current iPhone 5 whereas the iPhone 6 will be distinct in looks as it will sport a 5-inch screen. The source which merely calls itself Old Yao claims on the micro-blogging site Sina Tech to have seen the prototypes at Apple suppliers.

However one cannot vouch for the credibility of the source. Specially since no less a person than Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has reportedly said in his quarterly earnings call with analysts that a larger screen would not be feasible. Apple has previously said that it puts a lot of thought into the phone’s size so that it is suitable and comfortable to be used by being held in one hand. Nevertheless, the rumours persist in the market that the newest offering from Apple will sport a 4.8-inch screen and will launch alongside the standard 4-inch inch screen iPhone 5S this June.

If this is really so users will be overjoyed as they have been asking Apple to increase the size of its screen so that it can compete effectively with the Galaxy S3, which has had no problem with its 4.8-inch screen. So it looks as though the rumours of a 5 inch screen may not just be wishful thinking on the part of dreamers.
