Once you sign up, you are asked about the type of clothes that you would like to select. These types range from all conceivable occasions like business meetings to relaxed party wear. From there you will be asked to feed in the 3 main parameters like body type, skin color and height. Once this is done, you will see a list of suggestions populating your feed. Each clothing item is picked by individual stylists. After making your choice, you are then shown the price and are given an option to either like it or dislike it. If you like it, it gets saved in your wishlist and if not, the algorithm learns your choices and comes up with better suggestions. There is also an option to buy the piece of clothing.

Voonik by itself doesn’t deal with the actual e-commerce part. All their suggestions are picked up from existing e-commerce partners eg. Fashionara in my case. You are shown all the different angles of how the garment looks. Besides this, you are also shown accessories and apparel that go well with your selection, thus making it easier for you to get everything you like from the same place.

I like how the website does its thing and it undoubtedly designed very well. Going through the whole selection procedure and the general user experience is very smooth. The service seems to be an interesting one purely on the basis of the initial time I spent on it.

Voonik has been founded by Sujayath Ali who serves as its CEO. Their team comprises 8 people who come from companies like Amazon, Zoho, HP Research labs, IBM and Freshdesk.
