Huawei Ascend P6 leaked
Huawei isn’t the best known brand here in the UK, but globally they are one of the biggest mobile technology companies in existence.
We have been ranging Huawei handsets for the last couple of years, and whilst they serve a purpose, few have had the appeal of what looks to be the next handset that will be coming to the UK, the Ascend P6.
It looks rather smart. A brushed metal back cover.
Said to be announced, next week on the 18th June in London, the Ascend P6 has mid range specs but a rumoured price point that makes it highly desirable. It is expected to be about $330 which in pounds is about £220!
Lets be honest, it is unlikely to be that cheap but lets say it’s £350 all in this could have some real appeal as your next handset.
Claimed specs include:
- Dual SIM
- 6.5mm thickness
- 4.7” display
- 8GB internal memory
- microSD memory slot
- 8 megapixel camera
- Front facing 5 megapixel camera
- Quad-core 1.5Ghz processor
- Android 4.2
- 2000mAh battery
Whilst it is not the best spec we have seen, it is not bad and the side profile looks very similar the the iPhone design.

Huawei is a well know brand in Australasia. I have the Ascend 300 (U8815) and at $247 it’s about the best deal on the market. Excellent camera, responsive touch screen, even in reasonably bright sun light. Android 4.0.3 OS thrown in. The audio play beack is every bit as good as the ipod, and in many way easier to use. Plugged up to earphones, which come with the unit, and it’s superb. The only beef I have with it is that it’s murder to get the back off the case to change batteries or add a sim card. Get the girlfriend to use he long nails….!
The camera was a very pleasant surprise, every bit as good as an ipone 4 or HTC. Reads barcodes without a problem. All in all it represents excelent value for the price. I’ll certainly be upgrading again, having started with their G6600 qwerty model and moved up as newer models came to market…
