Sony Xperia M announced

Today Sony have enhanced their already strong portfolio of mobile devices with the Xperia M.

The M is focused on the the one-touch functions that Sony have been pushing throughout their handset range.  Using NFC for this one-touch function, the Sony M sits at the lower end of the range, appealing to the first time smartphone users.

An entry level device need not mean poor features, performance or product quality.

Sony have continued the OmbiBalance design that we saw first on the Xpeira Z whilst also including colour changing illuminations that can be personalised for calls, messages and alarms.

There are 2 Xperia M models, the M and the Mdual. The Mdual accommodates 2 SIM cards in comparison to the M which is single SIM.  The dual is unlikely to come to the UK but both will too be available in a range of colours; Black, White, Yellow and Purple.

Aside from the Sony design, NFC and colour changing illuminations, other key features include a 4” touchscreen, ClearAudio+ technology, a 5 megapixel camera with HDR and a dual core processor.

The “WALKMAN” application provides access to all your downloaded music, plus Music Unlimited* with over 18 million songs to explore, and Facebook social integration. Xperia M_dual

The Dual SIM variant Xperia M_dual lets users select between two SIMs before making a call or sending a message with just a single click. Each SIM card can also be customised separately – for example, a formal ring for business or another tune for pleasure – perfect when users want to separate work from play, and handle calls more efficiently.

Xperia M and Xperia M_dual from Sony Mobile will both be available worldwide from Q3 2013.
