Why don’t we simply reject Cladistics?
Cladistics is the idea that the two aspects of reality: structure and function, can be consistently united. This idea is, however, clearly wrong, since these two aspects are orthogonal, ie, diametrically opposed. So, why do we (biological systematists) discuss cladistics at all? Why don’t we simply reject it?
A futher problem with Cladistics is that it actually is the same old Nazistic race biology that we rejected after the Second World War (conveyed to us by the Nazi biologist Willi Hennig). So, why don’t we simply reject it (ie, Cladistics)? Why don’t we reject the idea that composed the foundation for Hitler? Are we so afraid of admitting that a single true tree of life isn’t to be found that we’re prepared to accept race biology to avoid this admittance?
How far are you (biological systematists that accept cladistics) prepared to go? Are you prepared to torture biological systematists that don’t accept cladistics? What does it take to convince you that you’re wrong?

Biology has nothing I to do with it. Realty is determined by the spirit you keep…
No, you’re right. Biology has nothing to do with it. My post discusses cladistics, not biology. From where did you get the idea that it has something to do with biology? From the fact that cladists spread their typological (structural) point of view in biological systematics…? If so, this is just a one of the fora they spread it in. They are actually active in all disciplines. They have just gained more ground in biological systematics than in most other disciplines. My post discusses the fact that their typological (structural) point of view also provided the foundation for the race biology that permeated so much of the Western world in the beginning of the 20th century, which culminated (and culminates) in the fundamental idea of Nazism. (ie, that every object can be unambiguously placed in a set of categories, that is, that categories are real, conveyed as the idea of a “true tree of life”). I’m asking why we don’t reject this idea in biological systematics today, when we rejected it after the Second World War and still reject in most other disciplines (and Bertrand Russell moreover demonstrated that it is wrong already in 1901)?
