Letterforms Dry-Erase Notebooks – If making small mistakes in your $30 Moleskine drives you insane, consider this brilliant and simple new dry-erase notebook from Letterforms. It’s perfect for working through those tedious design problems or drawing pictures of your boss during long meetings. Letterforms. Check it out on Kickstarter for $25.

Mark One 3D Printer – The Mark One is the first 3D printer from new start-up MarkForged that was unveiled at SolidWorks World 2014 in San Diego. This new spin on multi-material prints embeds layers of carbon fiber in PLA prints leaving you with parts that are 50x stronger than your typical 3D plastic print. Check out our ‘First Look’ feature on SolidSmack and keep an eye out for the release later this year.

Facebook Paper – Facebook has released what is considered to be one of their best-designed products to-date with their new Paper app. This new app focuses on personalizing your newsfeed with both updates from friends as well as curated new stories that match your interests. Cool if you’re into the whole Facebook thing. Check it out for free on iTunes.

Mynd – Mynd is a new personal assistant app for iPhone that borrows UI elements from the Windows Metro interface by organizing your calendar, notes, contacts, weather, and more all on one screen. Over time the app learns your habits to better craft your UI and also syncs with third-party apps such as Evernote to bring external data into one seamless, mind-melting experience. Free on iTunes as well.

DIY
Star Wars AT-AT Rocker – If you’ve been looking for a reason to get back into the ol’ workshop but lack a good weekend project, consider this Rocking Horse for ‘Junior’ inspired by the Star Wars AT-AT Walker from the crafters over at EPBOT. Love it. This weekend project takes takes you through drawing out templates of the AT-A with photos of the (almost) fully armed and operational ROCKING AT-AT. Check it out at EPBOT.com.

Ultimate IKEA Hacks – …And if it’s still too cold to get into the workshop, consider this mother of all IKEA hacks from design studio Teste Di Legno. After needing to replace some office furniture, the firm went on an IKEA shopping spree with a mission of bringing back multiple furniture pieces to create their own designs ranging from floating shelves to a rolling kitchen. ROCK AWESOMENESS
MakerFaire White House – The White House is stepping up their ‘Making’ Game by hosting their very first Maker Faire later this year, For reals. No word yet on if the president will be competing in the soap box derby or the soldering competition but nonetheless, keep an eye out if you live near the Capitol.

Honda 3D – And finally, You Wouldn’t Download a Car! Or would you? Honda is taking the bold step of offering their design archive online for 3D print enthusiasts who want to download and print a collection of Honda concept cars. Check it out at Honda-3D.com
