How can we force believers in a single truth to accept the fact that there isn’t any single truth?

Cladists, particle physicists and islamists all believe in a single truth. The difference between them is that cladists think they can find it, particle physicists think they have found it, and islamists are sure they have found it. Computer scientists, however, are at the edge of believing in it by wondering if they can find it.

I can thus explain to all of them that there isn’t any single truth, ie, that the expression is empty. But, … do they show interest in this explanation? No, not the slightest. On the contrary, they (except computer scientists) try to suppress it by ignoring it. (Computer scientists can stand that there isn’t any single truth, although many of them are deeply disturbed by this fact).

I can thus tell all tax payers that they pay for a vain (re-)search for a single truth, thereby paving the way for a career in science as a religion that may even lead to the Nobel Prize, like it did for the believer Peter Higgs for inventing a single truth. But, … do tax payers show interest in this explanation? No, not the slightest. On the contrary. they don’t want to know.

This belief in a single truth does thus appear to be a joint venture between believers of all kinds, may it be religious or scientific, suppressing the fact that there isn’t any such thing. Together they thus suppress all of us that don’t believe in a single truth (or understand that there isn’t any), ie, the moderate, or the tolerant. The question for us is thus how we shall defend ourselves against this suppression. How can we get rid of this belief both to the right and to the left? How can we force believers in a single truth to accept the fact that there isn’t any single truth?
