More on the two orthogonal aspects of reality (ie, pattern and process)

The fact that things have more than one aspect, like a front- and a backside, is not, in itself, a hinder to describe them unambiguously. The problem with the two aspects of reality, pattern and process, is, however, that they are orthogonal (ie, diametrically opposed, or perpendicular), by meaning that they don’t share a middle, because it means that they are just aspects, ie, of nothing. The place between them, ie, what they appear to be aspects of, is simply empty, because it is a paradoxical contradiction (see Russell’s paradox). This place is thus nothing but a paradoxical interface.

Not understanding this fact, but instead assuming that this paradoxical interface (ie, reality) can be explained unambiguously (ie, that there is a single truth), as the foundation for the realistic approaches “cladistics” and “particle physics”, is actually falsified by the two orthogonal aspects of reality themselves, and their corollary empirical fact that time has to be relative to speed in space. This assumption is thus not only paradoxically contradictory, but also falsified by both the two orthogonal aspects of reality and the fact that time is relative to speed in space. It is thus as wrong as something possibly can be.

The best explanation of this lack of a single unambiguous description of reality is given by quantum mechanics as that reality in every moment of time is a matter of probabilities rather than of states. Nothing is anything until we observe it. It means that there always are two orthogonally different ways to describe reality: one continuous and one discrete, whereof none is more true than the other is. The worst philosophical problem with this fact for us is that between them is apparently nothing. It means that we can understand reality mathematically, but not philosophically. The most interesting phenomena philosophically in mathematics is the sets that are called groups. They appear able to explain much of the mysteries of life.
