It sounds hard to believe, but one of the most exciting and useful features to come this year is self-parking assist. This technology effectively makes it easier for drivers to park their cars, especially in sticky situations where space is limited.  The cars use proximity sensors to help the driver park. These sensors automatically slow the car down when a possible collision is detected by the car. Cars that feature this are the 2015 Chrysler and the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C Class.

Audi has come up with an interesting feature for their new offerings this year as well. Some of their 2015 models will have a new version of their night vision assistant feature. In addition to detecting pedestrians and minimizing accidents, Audi has added a feature for the detection of animals. Animal collisions amount to a large percentage of the total number of automotive accidents all over the world. With the new system features, the cars can then detect animals such as deer, cows, and other animals. This can directly have an effect on the number of roadkill incidents, especially with larger animals.

No More Drowsy Driving

A notable achievement in car safety is the car’s ability to assess your driving. An example of this innovation is in the upgrade done on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, in which it inherited all of the safety technology of the Mercedez-Benz S-Class. This includes the ability of the car to detect when you’re getting sleepy or inattentive when you’re driving. It warns you when you’re driving in a disorderly manner and tells you to keep your eyes on the road.

Connectivity In Your Infiniti

More and more cars are being outfitted with Internet connectivity options. Whether it is on the all-in-one car stereo that features online GPS connectivity, or a full-on Wi-Fi hotspot inside the car to provide Internet connectivity to the passengers. When you think about it, this is especially useful in today’s world where constant connectivity and the need for more information is becoming more and more apparent.

Finally, what would a new car be without new advancements in fuel economy? Gas prices have dipped but environmental preservation will always be in the list of the most important things to discuss when designing new cars. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the new Honda Fit have shed a lot of weight and become highly fuel economic cars, with the C-Class weighing in at 220 pounds less than its older brother. The new Honda Fit is constructed with a new high-strength steel to help shed weight.
