Addicted To Retail (ATR) presents: A.P.C. Store by Laurent Deroo, Kyoto in Japan.
As one of its most prominent markets, A.P.C. continuously eyes further expansion in of its already elaborate retail network in Japan with a new A.P.C. Store. Very recently the french clothing brand dramatically refurbished and expanded its boutique in Kyoto. The store occupies a spacious ground floor space on Shijo Dori, a bustling thoroughfare in the heart of town, and features a fresh interior design by Paris-based house architect Laurent Deroo that’s clearly inspired by the cultural stature this city has in the land of the rising sun.
The local architectural practice of en is applied whereby contrasting flooring differentiates the usage of space within the store, i.e. rough uneven stone near the entrance, and french white oak further the inside. The latter material is also used vertically in a lattice pattern, marking the boundaries of an inner space. The new A.P.C. store carries the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s items, including denim and accessories, as well as quilts and scented candles.
