Most Unbroken Codes Of All Time
The Most Unbroken Codes Of All Time
We start with the Beale Papers.
In the early 1800′s Thomas J. Beale was the leader of a group of about 30
gentlemen adventurers from Virginia. They stumbled upon a rich mine of gold and silver
while hunting Buffalo north of Santa Fe, and spent 18 months mining thousands of pounds of
precious metals. Beale was to transport it back to Virginia. He made several trips back then encrypted three messages
with the location of the treasure and the names of the owners and their relatives.
Beale entrusted a box containing the encrypted messages with a local innkeeper and then vanished
never to be seen again. The innkeeper held on to them for decades and then gave
them to a friend before he died. That man spent 20 years trying to decode the messages but
was only able to solve one of the three. The second one. It detailed the treasure and it’s general
location. He then published all three ciphertexts in a pamphlet which was sold
in the 1880′s.
Many attempts have been made to decode the two remaining cipher texts.
To this day they remain unsolved.
As of 2011 the treasure has an estimated worth of $63 million dollars in
jewels, gold and silver.
Next we have the Oak Island Treasure.
Oak Island is a now privately owned
and gated 140 acre island on
the south shore of Nova Scotia,
Canada.
For centuries archeologists,engineers,
and treasure hunters have been trying
to solve the mystery of what lies buried
there. Whatever it is, extraordinary
measures were taken to conceal it.
The pit was found in 1795 by 18 yr old Daniel McGiniss.
It is a strange underground structure, primarily a shaft that has many layers of various
materials. Stone, clay, logs etc.
There are also tunnels and several platforms.
Many unusual items have been found at various levels of the
structure.
At a depth of 90 feet a cut stone with a
mysterious inscription cut into it was found.
Made up of strange symbols and letters no one could
decipher it.
There is one translation and it is thought that it says :
“Forty feet below two million pounds are buried”
There is a legend that claims the treasure is protected by a curse.
The curse it says, states that “seven must die” before the island will reveal
it’s treasure.
So far, six have died in various attempts of getting the pit to reveal
it’s secrets.
There are many odd things on the island some related
to the money pit, and
others it is not certain if there is a connection.
One of those things was a Triangle Of Stones
Another was a “Hidden Wharf” discovered in 1972 by Triton Alliance.
It was buried about three feet
below the existing beach.
This is what the money pit looks
like today. What it conceals is still a mystery. It is speculated that it
may contain pirate treasue buried by
Captain Kidd or Blackbeard, who claimed he buried his treasure
“where none but Satan and myself can find it”.
Other theories include Marie
Antoinette’s jewels, and the Ark of the Covenant
or the Holy Grail hidden by the exiled Knights of Templar.
Then there is the Shugborough inscription.
Located at Shugborough Hall, an estate in
Staffordshire England is a stone monument called
the Sheperd’s Monument.
It was built between 1748 and 1763 carved
by Peter Scheemakers, comissioned by Thomas Anson.
On the monument is an inscription that has never
been explained. It’s a sequence of letters -
OUOSVAVV carved with the letter D on the far left
and the letter M on the far right, below a relief copy
of Nicolas Poussain’s painting the Sheperds
of Arcadia.
The copy of Poussain’s painting is within an arch. It
shows a woman and three sheperds, two of the sheperds are pointing
to a tomb. Carved on the tomb is the Latin text “Et in arcadia ego”
meaning – I am also in Arcadia. The carving differs slightly from
the original painting. There is an extra sarcophagus on top of
the main tomb. Above the scene two stone heads have been added,
a smiling bald man, and a horned man that bears a likeness
to the goat- horned Greek god Pan.
This is a close up of the inscription. It is located beneath the carving and was
put there by an unknown craftsman. These eight letters have been
considered one of the world’s top unbroken ciphertexts.
The letters are carved between the letters D and M. On Roman
tombs the letters “D M” stood for Dis Manibus, meaning
“dedicated to the shades”.
The final and most unbroken code of all, the
Kryptos . The Kryptos is a mysterious encrypted
sculpture created by an artist named Jim Sanborn that sits right outside of CIA
headquaters in Langley, Virgina. Even the CIA
Has not managed to crack the code.
The sculpture contains four inscriptions, three of which
have been cracked, the fourth remains unbroken.
Sanborn has revealed that the sculpture contains a
riddle within a riddle, which will be solvable only
after the four encrypted passages have been
deciphered.
The solutions to the first three encypted inscriptions are as follows:
1. Between subtle shading and the absence of light lies the nuance of iqlusion.
2. It was totally invisible hows that possible? They used the earths magnetic field X the
information was
gathered and transmitted to an unknown location X does Langley know
about this? They should its buried
out there somewhere X Who knows the exact location?
Only WW this was his last message X Thirty eight
degrees fifty seven minutes six point five
seconds north seventy seven degrees eight minutes forty
four seconds west X layer two
3. Slowly desparatly slowly the remains of passage debris
that encumbered the lower part of the doorway was
removed with trembling hands I made a tiny breach in
the upper left hand corner and then widening the hole
a little I inserted the candle and peered in the hot air
escaping from the chamber caused the flame to flicker
but presently details of the room within emerged from
the mist X can you see anything? Q
