Why did this “thermal inertia” not exist, before the warm part of our cycle ended, at the end of the previous century?
We were told there was a direct correlation between C02 and temperature. Oh I see, the global warming isn’t seen in the atmosphere. It BYPASSES the instruments and HIDES somewhere for decades.
I’m glad you’ve noticed the ocean. It has what, 270 times the mass of the atmosphere? And most of it is very cold. The AVERAGE is 3.9 C and the average surface waters temperature is 17 C. (63 F)
Why doesn’t ALL the warmth of the atmosphere flow into the ocean, WELL, it’s because those wavelengths don’t penetrate the ocean. And warm water stays on top. So, how exactly does C02 warm the ocean?
And you’d have to warm the ocean, to increase the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere, which “climate models” depend upon. Water vapor blocks the same infrared wavelengths as the C02 you see. And guess what, there has been no increase in water vapor.
About 50 kilometers altitude on Venus, the atmospheric pressure is equal to sea level pressure on Earth. And the temperature is 15 C (59 F) –And the atmosphere is almost all carbon dioxide. (96.5%)
So….if we got the same amount of sunshine as Venus, and if our atmosphere was almost ALL C02, our temperature would be 59 F.
The satellites used to measure temperatures on Earth, and used to estimate summer ice melt, measure the warm glow of oxygen, which is not absorbed by C02 or water vapor or methane.
Oxygen radiates its heat directly into outer space.
You’re saying you can make your planet warmer, by absorbing some of the wavelengths with C02 and water vapor. But the oxygen windows are still open.
I’m still waiting for an explanation as to how a tiny increase in a trace gas, C02, is going to change the weather, given that the lower atmosphere is saturated with molecules that absorb those wavelengths. Oh, right, the stratosphere is going to “trap heat” and radiate it down to us.
Average temperature of the stratosphere is minus 3 C. Soooo you believe in Aristotle’s theory of antiperistasis. And you don’t believe that heat flows from greater intensity to lesser intensity.
I’d love to see a lab experiment to prove your theory. Or an engineering study from any industry.
