Apple CEO Plans to Visit India

Tim Cook, CEO of apple, will soon travel to India to meet with prime minister Narendra Modi. Cook will go to India soon after a stop in China, where Apple recently made a billion-dollar investment in Uber competitor Didi Chuxing.

This isn’t the first time Modi and Cook have met. India’s prime minister visited Silicon Valley last year and met some of the top tech executives. The two talked about the “Make in India” program which is a government initiative for local and global companies to manufacture their products within India.

When in India, Tom Cook will be visiting several cities within the country and announce Apple’s plans on expanding its business in India.
Currently, it does seem as if Apple is aware of India’s importance as a market. This is apparent when you look at the 800,000 devices in India during late 2015.
