Though Google’s partners have launched plenty of Android Wear smartwatches over the years, the Apple Watch is still a top seller. With the ‘Series’ naming scheme differentiating the two current models, the next wearable could well be called the Apple Watch Series 3, but we’re calling it the Apple Watch 3, for now, to keep things simple. Currently, there are two Apple Watch models now – Series 1 and Series 2. But now the bigger question is when will the Apple Watch 3 be launched?
There is a strong rumor that Apple Watch 3 will be released this year, most probably in September. All the fans are waiting eagerly, hope that too. Now comes the question what will be the features of the upcoming Apple Watch 3. Even so, it’s one of the more unlikely features since watchOS has designed the square-shaped displays and according to the latest rumors suggests, Apple isn’t going to change the design at all.
The new model is said not to look much different than its previous models, and according to the rumors so far, the main improvement will be in battery life rather than a new design or new features. It is said that the battery will have a really long life. The other possible change is, Apple may use a ‘micro-LED’ screen to help in its quest to last for more days between charges.
It is easy to predict is that the Apple Watch 3 will come in a range of models, colors and a choice of straps. This means the price will have a large range depending on how basic or flashy you want to go.
If the rumors to be trusted, the Apple Watch 3 can support taking selfie photos and maybe FaceTime video calling, too. But there is no confirmation to the news.
Apple might be designed with multi-function straps. It is a ‘Magnetic Wristband’ that shows a strap which can attach to the body of the watch with magnets. The interesting part is, when the watch isn’t worn as the strap can be rolled up to create stand.
Now comes the best of all features. Apple may be trialling modular bands that can allow buying a ‘base’ watch and then adding the features the buyer wants via removable ‘links’ in the strap. Maybe one can want longer battery, a GPS, a camera or even a specific medial function. They can just buy those and can ignore those they do not want. Apple will open this up to third-party manufacturers, too, so that the buyers can be ultimate satisfier.
According to The Chinese Economic Daily News website, Apple has again given the manufacturing contract to Taiwan-based Quanta that makes all of Apple’s smart watches so far and it says to expect a launch in the Autumn of 2017, September to be specific, as this would be a year after the Apple Watch Series 2 that was revealed on 7 September 2016.
However, there could be new Apple Watch models as soon as March, with a possible ‘S’ models arriving with more storage, maybe 4 and 8GB.
