I come from a very religious family. They still are except me.
Younger, I was too.

Until I realized something blatant : all gods existing in our past / present / future cultures and belief systems are purely human made.
Thus, all gods we create are small and irrelevant.

God didn’t create us in his image, we did created gods in our image.

God cannot be defined because we don’t understand even the concept.

I define the concept by infinite potentiality (potential to be seen under the philosophical definition – thus can never be defined entirely, if you are able to, then you are God). It’s the best I can do with my limitations.

Furthermore, the moment a god is created (by us), it is followed by a bunch of dogma.
Dogma implies an absolute truth (define by auto-anointed authorities).
Thus the true sinners against God, are the one defining dogma. The moment you forbid by absolute truth, you define god. You define what by definition cannot be.

It’s a paradox.

We, being imperfect, define absolute truth that bound us in many ways, thus limiting our own potential.

We were born “free” (to some extent), why limit our own already very limited potential ? – that rhetorical question is not a free pass to perform all kinds of horrors of course. It does not work this way unless you are on a self destructive path and taking others with you in the abyss. It’s not because one can that one should.

(of course, those arguments are to be read under the scope of ethics and not moral).
