When did you realize that you loved science?

I realized that science was my passion when I was in middle school. My grandma Jean is my role model she always demonstrated what it meant to live a healthy life. I aspired to be like her and grew my love for nutrition and health education.

What is your favorite thing about working with health and nutrition?

I have a passion to work with others to discover the best healthiest version of themselves through behavior change and lifelong healthy habits.

How does cheer and STEM fit together for you?

As a cheerleader in the STEM field I believe that it is so important to nourish our bodies so we can feel our best on and off the field . “A healthy outside starts with the inside.”

Can you tell us about a time you faced adversity in your career and how you overcame it?

Experiencing a layoff at a previous job taught me when one door closes another door opens.

Why is Science Cheerleaders important to you?

I love to be surrounded by other Cheerleaders who love science because we can make a difference in the world together.

What is one piece of advice you would share with aspiring young scientists?

You have the power to chase your dreams in life and in your career! School is the foundation that will take you to a path full of success. “A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.”
