Good article. I’d include a few other things on my list, though. Baby formula, cloth diapers, condoms, small solar gadgets, soda, extra sugar and oil, and random little things like emergency blankets, small toys, crayons, etc. You’d be shocked at what some little stuff can be worth when SHTF. And even if you don’t plan to barter it, having stuff like formula or toys around can help you build a loyal following of people if you ever need to.

At some point, we will have blown through all the ready-made stuff. So bartering may come down to sharing skills — like help me raise my barn and I’ll help your sow your cotton. Acquiring forgotten skills would definitely put one in a good neighborly position for bargaining.
If someone is fortunate to come across old tools in good repair that don’t require electricity, these may bring a lot to the table — treadle sewing machines, steam driven saws, blacksmith tools and the like.
Guns, Ammo , Drink/Beer , Weed and Silver would go down well but too sad so many stupid americans will be handing in guns because the law says so as they get ready to screw you over.
Sugar is top when it comes to food along with yeast but most important, don’t forget the rope and a camera so you can record history moving in the right direction as the parasites are removed and we claim back what is ours.
I’m not a fan of sugar, but I suppose some people will have to have their fix. But you can grow your own yeast and you can also grow Stevia from Stevia plants.
