Here’s How to Make a Homemade Mosquito Trap, Protect Your Yard This Summer (Instructional Video)
Have you noticed the Mosquitos are already out!
Modern technology has brought us many benefits, including mosquito traps that cost hundreds of dollars, but sometimes we overlook simple solutions to difficult challenges such as mosquito control.
Simple low cost solution to protect you and your children this summer.
Directions:
1 2-liter bottle
HOW:
1. Cut the plastic bottle in half.
2. Mix brown sugar with hot water. Let cool. When cold, pour in the bottom half of the bottle.
3. Add the yeast. No need to mix. It creates carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes.
4. Place the funnel part, upside down, into the other half of the bottle, taping them together if desired.
5. Wrap the bottle with something black, leaving the top uncovered, and place it outside in an area away from your normal gathering area. (Mosquitoes are also drawn to the color black.)
Change the solution every 2 weeks for continuous control.

Thanks for that josey, i’ll be giving this a go, i noticed the mossies are here already to pesky little critters
I made one yesterday, had about 25 or 30 in it this morning.
Good post Josey.
Thanks for the post OUTSTANDING!
Picked up the yeast and brown sugar today. I’ll be setting one up soon. I just have to find a place to put it so the raccoons can’t get it.
I made a first model today with modification. I used two bottles and the top ends of both so that one cap was at the bottom with the idea that I could unscrew the cap and drain the old mixture and bugs out, wash it out, replace the cap and refill it. However, I did find on doing this that the new contoured Coke bottles are a bit of trouble to use. Also, I don’t like the open top because of rain getting in it. I put a of sorts over it but it isn’t a good arrangement.
So, I got some new bottles today that have straight sides. I’ll try again with them and cut openings in the top bottle for the mosquitoes to get in. Maybe that will work, maybe not. It might be a while before it gets a full test though because the mosquitoes don’t really seem to be out yet, which is odd because they are usually swarming already.
do not kill the mosquito all they want is a fair share of your blood.
And God created them.
