Mykel Hawke Joins Survival Life As An Expert Contributor

Do you know who this is?

If you’re familiar with survival based TV shows, you should be able to recognize him.

It’s retired Special Forces Commander, Captain Mykel Hawke, but you may recognize him more from his television shows like “Man, Woman, Wild,” “One Man Army,”  “Elite Tactical Unit,” and a new show set to air in November on the Travel Channel.

I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to sit down and talk with Mykel on a number of occasions and I am happy to announce that he will now be a major Part of the Survival Life family.

I have to admit that it’s been hard for me to keep this under wraps for so long, but I am glad that I can finally break the news!

I know that this may be coming off as a bit of a “fanboy” rant, and it kind of is…

My wife and I are huge fans of Man, Woman, Wild.  In fact it was the first survival show that she would actually sit down with me to watch.

Mainly because she loved watching Ruth (or the Sergeant Major as Mykel calls her), grow and learn her own set of survival skills on the show.

Which brings to light another exciting addition to the Survival Life family…

We didn’t just add Mykel to our roster; we got the “Sergeant Major” too!

That’s right, Mykel’s wife, Ruth England-Hawke will be joining us as well.

So here’s the deal.

These two are not just amazing and entertaining TV personalities, they come with a huge resume that includes real world travel across more than 90 foreign locations, real survival situations in the wild, and active combat, both on and off screen.

Here is just a short list of their accomplishments:

MYKEL HAWKE is a U.S. Army Special Forces “Green Beret” combat veteran with over 20 years of combined military, government contracting, and survival experience.

He is the creator and star of the Discovery Channel’s two hit shows, Man Woman Wild and One Man Army. Mykel currently stars in a series on the Outdoor Channel’s Elite Tactical Unit, and in the process of making shows for the Travel Channel called LOST SURVIVORS premiering on 11/12/13 (NOV 12^th 2013) at 2300 Hrs (11 PM EST).

Hawke is the bestselling author of a language book, two critically acclaimed survival manuals, including Hawke’s Special Forces Survival Handbook , and he also has a new survival book and kit for kids. Mykel is also co-author of the Jake Tyler thriller series, which is based on his personal experiences in the Colombian Drug Wars.

Mykel is the founder and President of SpecOps—a global media, training, and adventure tourism company and has developed his own brand of survival knives and products.

Hawke supports veterans, and many humanitarian organizations including www.HumaniMag.tv .

I could go on for quite a while on Mykel’s accomplishments both in the military and professionally, but in the essence of time I felt I should summarize it the best I could.

Ruth Comes to the table with her own set of skills:

Ruth England has made a career of traveling the globe and doing unusual things in little known places. She has tracked tigers in Chitwan Nepal, swam with sharks in Australia, had tadpole soup in Borneo and much more while filming in over 100 foreign locations from the Arctic Circle to the volcanoes of Rwanda in Africa.

After graduating with a degree in Film Making and Photography from the University of Westminster in London, UK, Ruth went on to train as a reporter and became a news anchor with ITN, one of the UK’s premier news agencies.

She has since hosted TV shows for FOX, National Geographic, HGTV, CNBC, BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, and Sky, and others.

Most recently, she starred with her Green Beret husband Mykel Hawke on the hit survival show Man Woman Wild and their soon to be debuted LOST SURVIVORS on the TRAVEL Channel on November 12^th, 2013 at 11 pm.

Mykel and Ruth are an incredibly valuable asset and I am ecstatic to have them join the Survival Life Family!

Mykel will bring with him more than two decades of skills that have been honed to a razors edge.

And Ruth will come fully armed with her own set of survival skills that she has gained both on her own and from her time in the wild with her husband.  She will also bring with her a refreshing and much needed strong female voice into the world of survival.
