january-first week update

it’s been a rough few weeks around the farm.  crazy weather, wild temperature changes.  i’ve lost 19 bunny kits, 11 hatched chicks, 2 goat kids and the thoroughbred slipped her foal at 220 days.  not a good year ender/new year start.

i’m still working off the cheapie phone and it looks like it’s going to be a while before a new laptop finds a home here.  add an empty lp tank to the woes and life is perfect here, lol.

going to the off farm job 6 days a week for 4 hours a shift isn’t helping much.  eh, it will be spring soon and life will get back on track for the newly named Lucky Acres farm.  I am excited about the coming spring, the kitchen up and going and a full planting in the gardens.  Hopefully, the still to come babies live thru my latest round of crappy luck and the farm will be on a good run.

4 dozen eggs working on hatching, Delta goat and Sissy goat still to kid.  I haven’t rebred any rabbits since the weather is just too nasty at the moment.  As cold as it it, i don’t think the girls want to be aressed or bothered.

The food i put up this past season is tasting pretty good and i should make it to fresh produce with ease.  life alwys seems better on a full stomach!

Not too much beyond caring for the critters and heading to work has been going on around here.  I add a row or two eevery night to the crochet blanket I’m currently working on.  Should have it done sometime next week.  Maybe i will find time to actually visit the library where i might be able to upload a picture or 2 to the blog.  until then, take care and stay warm!  it’s darn cold out!
