A little while ago, we gave a recipe for a soup that would help alleviate cold symptoms. Today we will explore some natural cold remedies. I scoured the internet and found some things that are worth a try. Use these natural cold remedies to ease congestion, coughs and other annoying symptoms that a cold can bring.

Feeling congested? Take a shower.
The steam alone will help ease congestion but if you put one of these Vapor Shower Bombs on the floor of the shower and the aromatic aroma will have you breathing freely in no time.

Got the coughs? Try Vicks Foot.
I know, I know, it’s a silly name but that’s what my family calls it. No one is exactly sure why it works, but I can attest to the fact that it does. All that you need to do is to rub some Vicks Vapo-Rub on the soles of your feel and cover them with some socks when you go to bed. I was skeptical when I first tried it. I mean really? How can putting something on your feet help with a cough? I don’t know, but it works. It does the trick for both children and adults.

Sore throat and a cough? No problem!
My daughter has a sore throat right now and this little concoction works wonders. I quite like the taste and the kick the cayenne pepper gives. She calls it acid-fire-water. But trust me, it isn’t as bad as she makes it sounds. The relief is almost immediate.

Drink some tea.
Another favorite of mine is hot water mixed with honey, lemon and a little bit of ginger. It really seems to ease the symptoms of a cold.
