Two Weeks of Whole 30.... Want to know how much I've lost?

Today I turn 31! I have to admit that I definitely feel younger than when I was 26 and overweight. The healthier I live, the younger and more energetic I feel. Isn’t that funny how it works? When I first started losing weight, the number one thing on my list wasn’t to “feel younger”. I didn’t realize that I was in so much pain from weight related health problems that I felt more like a 50 year old woman. 
It wasn’t until later on that I realized how much better I felt. Don’t lose weight just to look great in a swimsuit. Lose weight for everything else that goes with it! Confidence, feeling better, looking younger, and enjoying life fully. All of those things are more rewarding than the swimsuit. Trust me, I know. 

This week has been very hectic and we have eaten out a lot. That’s where Whole 30 really gets tricky. But…. I can help!

  • Don’t just order off the menu! Ryan was really craving Hardee’s breakfast and initially I thought nothing would even come close to being okay for me. I asked the lady behind the counter if I could just order scrambled eggs. Guess what? They have sides of scrambled eggs and they are way cheaper than anything else on the menu! Not only does making a healthier choice benefit my waistline, it also helps me financially! 
  • Ask how the food is prepared. If you’re ordering veggies soaked in butter just so the restaurant makes them more appealing to the public, you need to know. They can still make your side of veggies without the extra junk! 
  • You are going to get really strange looks and sometimes feel like you’re too picky, but it really does not matter! I asked for a salad with no croutons or cheese. I requested no salad dressing. The waitress looked at me like I’d lost my mind. But guess what? I hung in there!
  • Avoid the buffets. I made this mistake last week. I should have stuck with the salad bar, but I didn’t. I paid for it and my weight climbed a little the next day. 

Want to know how Easter weekend actually went? It was rough! I thought that I did great for the entire week before, which I did. I thought I would splurge on one meal since I was so worn out. Friday night, I ordered pizza for family night. I was able to eat three pieces. About thirty minutes later, I was absolutely miserable. My lower abdomen swelled and was tight. I had severe stomach pains that lasted until the next day. I am here to tell you, it was one hundred percent not worth it! But….it did not end there. I felt so yucky that I did not eat better until Monday morning. The whole weekend was a big train wreck. I ate everything and it was out of control. Monday morning, I weighed in five pounds heavier. I felt so bloated and miserable.

I jumped back in with my eating and within three days, I was back to where I was before the binge. I felt so much better, had energy and no more stomach pains! I was thinking this whole gluten and dairy free stuff was just bogus, but I was one hundred percent wrong. I am here to tell you, the food you are putting into your body is either hurting you or helping you. You make the decision about whether you want to live miserable to pain free. It is totally up to you, but I want to help you make the healthiest decision.

On Saturday morning, I weight in at 148.8. In two weeks, I have lost a total of FIFTEEN POUNDS!
Two weeks….fifteen pounds. And I have not felt deprived or hungry! That’s the biggest part. I didn’t have to starve myself or do something extreme to get there. I simply ate real food!

I love pasta. I love bread. I love cheese. But if I can do this and feel better, you can too!
