I shared {THIS} post with you last week. Now that we have had a few days to process everything, I want to use my blog as an opportunity to help someone. Ryan and I walked away from the wreck with a totally different view. It’s awful to hear about wrecks on the news or even drive past them. But when it’s someone you care about, things totally change.

If you’re busy with life like we are, you probably have tons of stuff in the back of your SUV or car. At any given time we have football helmets, ceramic coffee cups, and plenty of Ryan’s tools in the back. We even carried lawn mower blades that we needed to sharpen. What do you think happens with all of that stuff when you are in a wreck? Scary, heavy projectiles flying through the car. You may be perfectly restrained in your car, but anything flying around in that car can cause serious injuries. After last Sunday, Ryan and I emptied my SUV completely. None of us imagine having a serious collision, but we still need to be prepared in case that happens.

Make sure you always wear your seat belt and that all child seats are in good condition. If you are unsure what child safety equipment is needed for your child, please check your local laws. If you live in Tennessee, you can read more {HERE}. Many fire departments give free child restraint checks if you are unsure about anything.

I absolutely love my iPhone. We are totally BFF’s, but there is absolutely no texting, checking Facebook, or posting on Instagram if I am driving. It takes just a second for someone to cross into your lane or swerve at you. You may be the absolute best driver in the world, but other people make bad choices that can affect you.

Speaking of Facebook… Make sure you update your phone number in your profile. I know many of us (me included) are skeptical about putting that information out there. I know we don’t want to be bugged and aggravated by people we don’t give that information out to. But……. What if you were in an accident and no one had your family’s contact information? Last Sunday, I was able to use Facebook to contact their family quickly. On my phone, I can call someone through Facebook if they provide their phone number.

You don’t have to walk that path alone. God heals, protects and saves. It doesn’t matter how much you think you screwed up in life, God will still love and forgive you. I cannot begin to explain the peace and joy in my heart that came with my salvation. I did not deserve nor earn His forgiveness, but He gave it to me despite my flaws and shortcomings. I fail Him every day, but He continues to love me through it all. If you feel empty, alone, or scared today, please let me talk to you. Let me show you there is hope.
