Entire USA Shaking from Ecuador Quake; All Seismographs Still Quivering Hours Later!
A very unusual and frightening thing is taking place throughout the USA right now: The entire land mass of the country is vibrating. It began with an explosive magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Ecuador at around 7:58 PM Eastern US Time and has not stopped since.
The entity which monitors earthquakes throughout the country is the US Geological Survey (USGS). They run the Advanced National Seismic Sensors (ANSS) which is the “backbone” of all the earthquake monitoring throughout the nation. The ANSS has about eighty-eight seismographs nationwide.
As shown below, with the exception of two seismographs that are not presently functioning, seismographs in the entire United States are showing ongoing quivering from the Ecuador Earthquake! ALL OF THEM! It’s almost as though the earthquake shook the planet and caused it to wobble!
While we may not actually feel the vibrating, the seismographs confirm it is taking place; but it is doing so at a depth we cannot feel. Perhaps at the same 10 KM depth where the Ecuador earthquake took place. While that vibrating goes on, it is loosening things beneath us.

As these vibrations continue, it is highly likely they will trigger other earthquakes throughout the US. Areas which are prone to earthquakes, are more likely to experience new ones as this vibrating continues. As such, folks in California, Oregon and Washington should be prepared for a possible earthquake tonight or tomorrow.
Take a look for yourself at the 88 images below, taken from the ANSS Backbone at 11:16 PM eastern US time on April 16, 2016. The earthquake took place at 7:58 PM EDT and the seismographs have not stopped shaking since that event!
TSUNAMI PROPAGATING THRU PACIFIC OCEAN FROM ECUADOR EARTHQUAKE
A massive, magnitude 7.8 Earthquake struck Ecuador, South America this evening and generated a Tsunami wave. The image above shows the propagation of the wave throughout the Pacific Ocean.
Folks in its path should prepare to move to higher ground.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did issue a Warning for a Tsunami from 0.3 to 1 meter in height, for Ecuador, Peru, Columbia, Panama and Mexico, but says other areas may just see a non-damaging increase in tide level.
Since the effect of Tsunamis varies greatly depending upon the ocean floor where they come ashore, we believe it best to advise the public of the propagation of this Tsunami so the public can make its own choice as to whether or not to move to higher ground.
To properly calculate the time, be aware that the earthquake took place at 19:58 EASTERN US TIME which is 23:58 UTC. Using these times, you can now compute the arrival of the tsunami in your area based upon your time zone.

President Putin has authorized the immediate redeployment of troops in the Eastern Military District (EMD) in preparation for what could be a series of massive earthquakes and tsunamis to hit the Kamchatka Peninsula within the next fortnight—and further warns that the United States-Canada-Alaska northwestern Pacific Ocean region may be in even more danger than Russia.

Sorry to tell you this but we don’t have the technology to predict earthquakes. We can’t predict when they are coming, where they are coming, or how strong they’ll be. Anyone who says different are lying. I was lucky enough to be made to take hard science classes for my graduate degree. You learn a lot of cool stuff taking science classes.

They can follow patterns of weakened hot zones and be pretty damn close but i agree, there is no algorithm that PRECISELY can say a 6.5 will hit the west coast of Indonesia in 4 days. But there nearly able, but by then it will be useless
Sorry to tell you Mr. Graduate in Hard Sciences, but there are independent astronomers predicting earthquake activity based on sunspot, solar flares, CME behavior, etc. They can’t always pinpoint where they will happen, but they’re accurate as to timing and intensity. These people are not affiliated with any alphabet agency or school and they are all over YouTube.

This morning we had rain, as we have had a lot recently. The earth was not shaking, but we had thunder like I have never heard in my 71 years. And I grew up in Kansas. and lived here in southern Ok for nearly 20 years, now. There was no lighting and cracking sound that comes with thunder . Its was like a slow rumble in the air and very close to earth. All that was visible was the cloud cover that seems to be heavy, but not heavy enough to interrupted satellite TV as occurs in heavy rain storms. Any one else have this? My prayers for those going through terrible disasters and those going to help out. May we not be affected But we may be having refugees from these to deal with and not some from war zones of the Middle east.
