Alaska - 2,400 Earthquakes in the Last 2 Weeks - Big One Coming? Powerful Earthquakes Rock California and Spark Fears of San Andreas Awakening

Alaska’s had nearly 2,400 earthquakes in the last 2 weeks…that’s about 1,000 more than normal. There are currently two large clusters producing hundreds of aftershocks, one in the SE and one in the SW.

Alaska is experiencing more earthquakes than normal this month, according to the Alaska Earthquake Center.
In the past two weeks, the Alaska Earthquake Center has detected nearly 2,500 quakes in the state. They say that’s about 1,000 more than normal.

In Southeast, they’ve counted more than 800 aftershocks following the two large earthquakes in southwestern Canada last week.

Seismologists are also keeping a close eye on a cluster of earthquakes near Adak.

Residents reported feeling strong shaking after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake shook the area Monday. Researchers say this isn’t a typical place to see larger quakes and the area is still very active. They’ve counted nearly 200 quakes in this part of the Aleutians in the last 48 hours. (source)

Within the last 2 weeks, 45 earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 or greater have struck Alaska, and 25 of them were of magnitude 4.0 or greater. The worst one had a magnitude of 6.2, but none of the earthquakes did much damage because none of them hit heavily populated areas. But the reason why all of this shaking is causing so much concern is because the “Ring of Fire” runs right along the southern Alaska coastline, and all of the earthquakes except for one were along the southern coast.

For a long time scientists have acknowledged that a major Cascadia subduction zone earthquake is way overdue, and when one finally strikes the devastation that we could see in the Pacific northwest is likely to be off the charts. In fact, some scientists believe that the coming Cascadia subduction zone earthquake could potentially be as high as magnitude 9.0…

That 9.0-magnitude quake could trigger a 500 mph wave and put 70,000 people in the “inundation zone” in serious risk. Depending on their location within that zone, Kathryn Schulz writes in her article, people will have between 10 and 30 minutes to evacuate.

If a giant earthquake along the Cascadia subduction zone ever did cause a tsunami of that size, the death and destruction would be unimaginable. Just consider what physicist Michio Kaku told CBS News about such an event…

“In Japan, they practice this. Children know exactly what to do, and there’s an early warning system that we don’t have in Seattle that we do have in Japan,” Kaku said. “There are building codes that are not being enforced. Realize that many buildings are just going to be toppled when this gigantic earthquake, a 9.0, and a tsunami hits the Seattle, Tacoma and Portland area.”

According to the FEMA director responsible for Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska, the operating assumption is that “everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast.”

Further south, scientists are expecting “the Big One” to hit California at literally any time. The experts that have studied these things are warning that the 800-mile-long San Andreas fault “could unzip all at once”, and one recent study claims that a big enough earthquake “could plunge large parts of California into the sea almost instantly”…

The Big One may be overdue to hit California, but scientists near LA have found a new risk for the area during a major earthquake.

They claim that if a major tremor hits the area, it could plunge large parts of California into the sea almost instantly.

The discovery was made after studying the Newport-Inglewood fault, which has long been believed to be one of Southern California’s danger zones.

Let us certainly hope that nothing like that happens any time soon.

But without a doubt the crust of our planet is becoming increasingly unstable, and we are living at a time when the number of earthquakes just continues to rise.

Frank Hoogerbeets has issued an online “major earthquake warning” amid fears a “big one” is on its way, claiming it could also cause a tsunami.

If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you have probably already heard of the Cascadia Subduction Zone. It is where the Juan de Fuca plate meets the North American plate, and it stretches approximately 700 miles from northern Vancouver Island all the way down to northern California. This subduction zone is capable of producing far more powerful earthquakes than the much more famous San Andreas fault in southern California, and scientists tell us that it is only a matter of time before another continent-killing earthquake hits this area. And when it does hit, it will be far worse than any other natural disaster that the United States has ever seen up to this point.

According to CNN, “the largest earthquake in the continental United States” took place along the Cascadia Subduction Zone on January 26th, 1700, and one of the reasons why it is considered to be far more dangerous than other west coast faults is because it is also capable of producing massive tsunamis…

The Cascadia can deliver a quake that’s many times stronger — plus a tsunami.

“Cascadia can make an earthquake almost 30 times more energetic than the San Andreas to start with, and then it generates a tsunami at the same time, which the side-by-side motion of the San Andreas can’t do,” said Chris Goldfinger, a professor of geophysics at Oregon State University.

The Cascadia is capable of delivering a 9.0-magnitude quake — an awesome show of force by Mother Nature.

What would a 9.0-magnitude quake that also produced a huge tsunami do to the highly populated northwest coast?

According to an article in the New Yorker, the head of the FEMA division that oversees Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska says that “everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast”…

If the entire zone gives way at once, an event that seismologists call a full-margin rupture, the magnitude will be somewhere between 8.7 and 9.2. That’s the very big one.

…By the time the shaking has ceased and the tsunami has receded, the region will be unrecognizable. Kenneth Murphy, who directs FEMA’s Region X, the division responsible for Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska, says, “Our operating assumption is that everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast.”

In the Pacific Northwest, everything west of Interstate 5 covers some hundred and forty thousand square miles, including Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Eugene, Salem (the capital city of Oregon), Olympia (the capital of Washington), and some seven million people.

Like I said earlier, it would be far worse than any natural disaster that we have ever experienced in the history of the United States up until now.

And it could happen at literally any moment. In fact, many scientists believe that we are way overdue for a continent-altering earthquake along the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Tension has been building up there for a very long time, and at some point that tension will be released.

Cacophony swells from the city as if it is howling in response to the earth’s call: car alarms, shattering glass, the thudding of bricks popping out of building facades, humans screaming in fright, and far off, echoes of what sound like dumpsters clattering to the ground from the jaws of garbage trucks. And let us not forget that the Cascadia Subduction Zone sits directly along the Ring of Fire, and the Ring of Fire has started to become much more active in recent years.

In addition, if the region starts to become more seismically active there is also a very real possibility that we could see a full-blown eruption of Mt. Rainier, which has been described as“the most dangerous mountain in America“.

Let us hope that we have as much time as possible before our nation has to deal with such calamities, but the cold, hard truth is that we are certainly not helping matters by acting so wickedly.

If we continue to do the same things that we have been doing, it is only a matter of time before the judgment of God comes to our land in a major way. We are killing millions of babies, harvesting their body parts and auctioning those body parts off to the highest bidder. To many Americans that may seem like “old news”, but I assure you that this is not “old news” to God.

I don’t think that it was any accident that the series of undercover Planned Parenthood videos that were released last year came out when they did. We were being shown our guilt and we were being given one last chance to repent.

“Have we reached a point in our society where there effectively is an Amazon.com for human parts, entire babies?”Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) asked the witnesses at a special hearing on bioethics and fetal tissue on Wednesday.

Dr. Gerard Kevin Donovan, a pediatrician and bioethicist at Georgetown University, responded that the practice of using tissue from aborted babies for government-funded research “shocks my conscience and it should shock the conscience of the nation.”

Unfortunately, the buying and selling of harvested baby parts does not shock the conscience of our nation. In fact, most surveys show that an overwhelming percentage of the American people want to continue giving hundreds of millions of tax dollars to Planned Parenthood each year even though they have been doing this.

Since we have not responded to God’s calls to repent, all that is left is for Him to shake us.

And without a doubt, the shaking is coming soon…
