The cataclysmic pole shift hypothesis suggests that there have been geologically rapid shifts in the relative positions of the modern-day geographic locations of the poles and the axis of rotationof the Earth, creating calamities such as floods and tectonic events.
There is evidence of precession and changes in axial tilt, but this change is on much longer time-scales and does not involve relative motion of the spin axis with respect to the planet. However, in what is known as true polar wander, the solid Earth can rotate with respect to a fixed spin axis. Research shows that during the last 200 million years a total true polar wander of some 30° has occurred, but that no super-rapid shifts in the Earth’s pole were found during this period. A characteristic rate of true polar wander is 1° per million years or less. Between approximately 790 and 810 million years ago, when the supercontinent Rodinia existed, two geologically rapid phases of true polar wander may have occurred. Is anyone besides me aware of the difference between a magnetic pole shift, and a physical pole shift? Sure doesn’t seem like it…if the physical poles have shifted in the past twenty five to forty thousand years, how did they shift back to their exact orientations afterwards? The fact that the Giza Pyramids are almost perfectly aligned with true North, proves that either they shifted right back into place, or they did not shift at all in that timespan. I am concerned and disheartened by the seeming clueless ignorance so many display regarding this topic, and the inability of so many to utilize simple logic in general…get a clue people…

I think you better read that part of the Article again! We are talking about a greater timespan than from the time of the construction of the pyramids.

I appreciate your reply, but, it seems to me that you are talking about a physical pole shift, and you are the exception, or one of the rare exceptions. In article after article, the majority of commentors main reference is to magnetic pole shifts and the unassociated global devastation. I pretty much know the reality, and you and I seem to be in agreement. My time reference, which includes the latest credible approximate age of the pyramids, shows that there have not been any physical polar shifts in that timespan. I have no doubt that there have been physical pole shifts in the past, yet I see nothing to suggest that we are about to experience any in the near future either. If Nibiru is real, and presents a real danger, we would have been experiencing the effects of that already, instead of experiencing HAARP induced weather manipulation these past few years…

I am in agreeance of what you just wrote.
The Earth had magnetic reversals that was found in Rocks by several Geologist
However there was one or more Physical Earth movements that covered up ancient civilizations as we are slowly discovering some of their advanced machinery and devices which some are embedded in Rock or in Coal.
The last one may have been Noahs Flood that served to destruct the Nephilim that were left on Earth.We do find Evidence in both the Bible and Physical Evidence of Skeletons.
Nibiru or planet X if it exists or a Major impact angled in the opposite of earth rotation coming in at a shallow angle might do? Altlantis may have been anotherr Event and foiled to find the Location that may have been shifted then?
Those are only my speculation.
