COMET LINEAR UPDATE! ARE YOU PREPARED?

February 24 2014

North America is best suited for the comet storm event, perhaps Russia as well. The tail is 260,000 miles wide, thick and dense, 32 times larger than Earth that we will go through on the 24th of May. Any of these object could be deadly. May 23rd it slides forth, then peaks on the 24th.

We have 89 days to prepare, not to panic but to prepare and stock up, get things right with God just because it’s always time for that. This storm is survivable if we are sensible in our plans and preparations. It is NOT the end of the Earth.

In 2014, we need to pay close attention to all of the feasts.

Are you prepared?

I’d like to read InLikeFlint’s response to this please…

In the video, BP is trying to equate Comet LINEAR with the comet that produced the Younger-Dryas (YD) impact event 12,900 years ago. That is not correct. Comet LINEAR has nothing to do with the YD event object.

If and when the YD progenitor object comes back around, there should be enough of it left to spot as a comet or several comets in long period orbits of at least 13,000 years or so. Comet LINEAR is not broken up and has been orbiting the Sun in the inner solar system in a short orbit that is just over 5 years long. Its has already shed most of the dust that it will shed and is not producing much debris at this time.

BP has been proven wrong time and time again when he makes claims of imminent disaster from a meteor storm or asteroid impact. So, why should we believe him now? His record for accuracy is nearly zero. lol

This will be short little meteor shower that might produce a few nice meteors, but nothing that could really hurt us. Enjoy the show if you can is my suggestion.

By all indications, this new meteor shower will produce some bright meteors and the Zenith Hourly Rate (ZHR) could be between 100 and 400 meteors per hour. As far as is known, Comet Linear presently does not produce that much dust and is transitioning from an active to an inactive comet. It has been shedding dust since the 1790′s until the present. It is estimated that the size of the particles it sheds are about 1 mm in size.

Sky and Telescope magazine has this to say about the prospects:

“As Ye and Wiegert report [see first link below] in an upcoming Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, the team’s calculations suggest that the comet has been producing relatively large particles (on the order of 1 mm), meaning that the upcoming meteor shower may be chock-full of bright meteors. But their work also places limits on the overall rate of meteors, suggesting a rate of 200 per hour under ideal conditions.

“That’s in the same ballpark as previous, independent work by Jérémie Vaubaillon (IMCEE, France) and Mikhail Maslov: Maslov, for example, estimated between 100 and 400 meteors per hour. But Ye and Wiegert warn that, “given the current relatively weak dust production of the comet, rates could be much lower.” With the low dust production, as well as the team’s lower estimate of how many debris streams from the comet’s previous passes are hanging around in this region of space, it’s highly unlikely that we’re in for a “meteor storm” (1,000 per hour) — although the team couldn’t quite rule it out.”

Comets leave behind dust and small particles in their trails. Boulder-size and larger sized objects only result if the comet breaks apart. By all indications, this hasn’t happened for this comet. Anyone predicting doom and gloom from some sort of large meteor bombardment are grossly exaggerating the facts of the matter. 1 mm sized particles will produce a nice light show, but are hardly cause for concern of damage.

If this event doesn’t pan out as ISON didn’t pan out as BP said it would what will his response, if any, be? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to sound as if I’m beating him up, I’m merely stating and asking the obvious. Redaction if incorrect, or a disclaimer might save him from much grief and ridicule.
