Planet Collided With Earth 4.5 Billion Years Ago, Formed Moon, Giant Impact Theory Confirmed By German Scientists
Göttingen scientists confirm “Giant impact“ theory – Lunar samples analyzed at Göttingen University
Scientists from the Universities of Göttingen, Cologne, and Münster in Germany have resolved an isotopic difference between the Earth and the Moon. The slight variation in oxygen isotopes confirms the “Giant impact“ hypothesis of Moon formation, according to which the Moon formed from the debris of a giant collision between the Earth and another proto-Planet about 4.5 billion years ago. The results were published in the journal Science.

In the Stable Isotope Laboratory at Göttingen University’s Geoscience Centre, the scientists analyzed samples from the Moon that were provided by NASA. The lunar basalts were brought back to Earth between 1969 and 1972 with Apollo Missions 11, 12, and 16. They released the oxygen from the rocks, purified it and measured the pure oxygen gas in the mass spectrometer.
“For the first time, we were able to show a subtle difference between the rare 17O isotope and the abundant 16O isotope,” explains Dr. Daniel Herwartz, who lead the study at Göttingen University and is now employed at the University of Cologne.
“The similar isotopic composition of Earth and Moon appeared to be at odds with the giant impact hypothesis, because numerical models of the collision predicted a difference. The difference we found is smaller than initially predicted, but that might be due to the fact that both planets originated from the same region of the solar system.”
Only a few laboratories worldwide are able to measure the rare 17O isotope at all. “For the last three years, staff and students in Göttingen have persistently worked on improving the analytical procedure,” says Prof. Dr. Andreas Pack, head of the Stable Isotope Laboratory at Göttingen University’s Geoscience Centre. “The results of this study show that this effort has paid off.” Some of the data were measured by student Bjarne Friedrichs for his Bachelor’s thesis.

Another typical nonsense Alton post: Prove it ! This fake scientific dribble does not impress.
The analysed rocks did not come from the moon. We know that the Dutch were given “moon rocks” which turned out to be fossilized wood. Nobody has ever been there.
The reason why this is so boils down to the fact that the earth is not rotating on an axis; it is stationary, exactly as the Bible repeatedly states. ( If it were rotating, then the recent balloon ascent by Felix Baumgartner would have not have resulted in him landing only 20 km from his lift-off location, which he had left 3 hours earlier.)
This therefore means that the moon must orbit earth daily, not monthly. Its velocity therefore must be of the order of 60,000 mph. The Apollo “spacecraft” did not reach such speeds; therefore it is impossible that it ever landed on the moon.
Thus, the entire German effort is so much hot air. Earth was created a few thousand years ago, not billions. The PTB wish you to believe that a Big Bang happened so long ago because that is the only way in which evolution could possibly have occurred, although even this length of time could never have created the biological complexities we see in the living world.
Yes this is a BS ‘confirmation’ of a phoney theory in today’s skewed cosmology but how in the world would anyone seriously believe the earth is a few thousand years old? Seriously everyone is so full of themselves with inflated egos.. Humble yourself for once and do some dilligent study of Nature.
Our history and the truth of our world is much more incredible than most could currently come to terms with.

As I recall……am123 and I had a conversation about this several months ago……..
I wrote a similar theory down back in 1999 that consisted of The moon being like an ark and crashing into the earth and dispersing life as it ricochet back into orbit. So if this does pan out to be true for which I think it is. I’m just a nobody so my theory will probably end up in the hands of someone that wont give me any credit… So good luck to you Göttingen University.
