Experts: Half of Fossils Contain Soft Tissue Remains

After animals die, their soft tissues can be preserved by iron elements in their dead bodies (note 1). Those iron elements form iron nano particles and generate free radicals that act like formaldehyde (note 1). Formaldehyde, of course, preserves soft tissues. In a research, about half of fossils were found to contain soft tissues, such as blood vessels (notes 2, 3 ).
