Earth just had a ‘close shave’ with a 180ft asteroid – and no one saw it coming.
Astronomers in Brazil discovered asteroid 2016 QA2 on Saturday.
Asteroid thought to be between 80 and 180ft wide (25 and 55m).
The rock passed to within 50,000 miles of Earth just a day later.
That’s less than a quarter of the distance between Earth and the moon.

NASA has admitted that when it comes to asteroids that threaten life on Earth, they are flying blind. An asteroid the size of an Olympic swimming pool, large enough to wreak havoc on a regional scale, flew “an astronomical hair’s breadth” away from Earth on Sunday – and NASA didn’t even know it was coming.
By comparison the rock which hit Tunguska in Siberia in 1908 – a major event in asteroid history – scorching forest and flattening trees across thousands of square miles, is believed to have been between 200 and 620 feet wide (60 and 190 metres).
Experts believe the Earth could be hit by a humanity-destroying asteroid at any moment, and NASA would be as surprised as the rest of us.
According to NASA, if an asteroid of similar size to 2016 QA2 was to impact Earth, it would release approximately 2.5 megatons of energy in the atmosphere and would cause regional devastation.
Although a special NASA task force called the Planetary Defense Coordination Office (PDCO) responsible for identifying Near-Earth Objects (NEOs) was set up this year – and plans to create technology capable of deterring an Earth-bound asteroid are in development – fears persist that the Earth could be devastated by an unexpected asteroid despite our best efforts.

So ‘splain to me why this means we could get hit “any time now?” Like I understand they can’t see them coming, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to get hit.
They’re not acknowledging WHY there are asteroids whizzing by so often lately. They’re pretending it’s always like this. And “just a matter of time” before one of the zillions strikes.

The reality is, the charge field of Planet X has pushed all this junk into our orbit.
It is the rate of detection that has increased, LifeIs, not the frequency of bolides and “exponential” is a stretch given the rate of increase actually declined, over 80%, from 2014 to 2015.

… one must keep in mind that there are lies, damned lies and then there are statistics.
The “exponential” graph makes no mention of the northern California SETI-CAMS array being established in 2010 nor the equivalent set up that came online in 2014 and based in New Zealand.
And if you can’t trust NASA to distill your moonshine, LifeIs, how come you’re all over them now? Selective integrity much?
And there are plain old statistics. Observations counted up and graphed.
But yours is the lie type, going from a huge increase year over year, from 2013 to 2014, to a smaller increase year over year, from 2014 to 2015, and using the word “decline” in the sentence.
And no, more observation from one location on Earth in 2010 does not account for a year over year increase in fireballs reported in the US, from 2005 to 2015.
And it certainly does not account for the small asteroids flying by and occasionally exploding in the air, in recent years.
Your denial of reality is ridiculous, and it has a short shelf life, I promise.

… and while the author is focused only on the increase the fact of the matter is that the rate of increase declined by over 80%. Therefore it is incorrect to lay claim to a year on year exponential increase in fireballs.
Plus, LifeIs, the effects of the increase in detection rates is clearly borne out by the data. All one has to do is look at the graph and note how the detection rate changed coincident to the 2010 and 2014 increase in detecting ability.

Validate the working list is just another way of saying “proving the prediction” which further supports my argument that detections have increased not incidences.
According to the dictionary, and science, an exponentially increasing graph would appear not as a straight line but as a curve that continually becomes steeper. The data, in my opinion, is expected to plateau until such time as new, improved or increased detection methods are brought online and the 2016 results will no doubt shed light on any trend.
Given the articles blatant misuse of the term “exponential increase” and your blind acceptance of it i have to wonder if you’re having trouble with the big sciency words. You see you’ve doubled down by incorrectly using the word “observation” in place of “detection” and scientifically speaking this will not do.
The whole reason for the “Cameras for Allsky Meteor Surveillance” (CAMS) network array was to detect what wasn’t being observed and the graph clearly shows that before SETI recorded observances were altogether static.

We have always had meteorites , as this is quite common, and as we used too call them lol back when i was akid, ( falling stars ). Of course the frequency of meteorites is almost normal , However, the sheer number of close calls,….., particularly in the last 15 years has been rising tremendously!! I used too monitor any , and i mean any, quote close calls, and i have never seen soo many very close calls. I might not be Oxford educated, but i can tell everyone what i know. Furthermore , it is the fullfilment of prophecy , as found in the Bible book of Revelation, and the Gospels, as when Jesus , quoted that the ( powers of the Heavens will be shaken ( and the Sun will not give forth its light , meaning upon us because of a eclipse from a huge Heavenly body) , and the moon will not shine upon earth, as stated above. He further stated that , ( furthermore their will be earthquakes in one place after another, and anguish of nations not knowing the way out), and faint out of fear , because of the ( roaring of the sea ), which might very well be giant Sunamis. Folks this is very real , and is coming . The , close calls , will continue too get more and more frequent, and more and more intense, as they start hitting the earth soon. In reality, until such time as the little blighters aren’t capable of sneaking up on earth, it is impossible to arrive at more than an estimate for the total number in any given period.
