The Power Behind Our Words

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Lucie Kirouac

“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body” (Proverbs 16:24).

Words have a real power. God spoke the world into being by the power of His words (Hebrews 11:3). We are in His image in part because of the power we have with words, which do more than convey information. Man is the only creature on this planet who has the ability to communicate through spoken words. It’s a very unique and powerful gift from God. Words have the power to destroy or build up (Proverbs 12:6).

“There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing” (Proverbs 12:18).

Like tools, they can be used to help us reach our goals or send us spiraling down into a deep depression!

“ A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it brake the spirit”(Proverbs 15:4).

Everything we say has consequences.  We can bring inspiration and joy to others or sadness and pain. We must be more mindful of what we say.

If we speak in haste words of no value without reflecting on the outcome of what has been said, the results can have a very negative effect. Quite often, we say wrong things because we don’t take the time to pause and think before we speak.

“Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding” (Proverbs 17:27).

If we don’t speak meaningful words to others, they might not want to talk to us in the future. Adding value to our conversations can provide simple pleasures—like humor or joy.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones”(Proverbs 17:22).

It is important to choose the subject of the conversation depending on who we are speaking to,  as there is also a time and place for different conversations. Words are so important that we are going to give an account of what we say when we stand before the Lord (Matthew 12:36-37).  Hmm… that makes one think twice before saying anything!

Paul wrote to not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths but only what is helpful for the building up of others according to needs so they may benefit those who listen (Ephesians 4:29). He also urged us to be a blessing for those with whom we have daily contact.

Jesus reminds us that what we speak overflows from the heart (Matthew 12:34-35). Our speech is to honor God, and is a reflection of our relationship with Him.In James 3, it is clear that the tongue is a fire, a world of evil and full of deadly poison (James 3:5-6).

In us there are destructive words, thoughts and tendencies that strike out often with a push from Satan and the irony is that we use them not only with strangers but with those we love and cherish the most! In our conversations, we should avoid attacking, talking too loud or not loud enough. Calling others names must definitely be avoided.

As we all like to talk about ourselves, there is room for being  a good listener, to be considerate and respectful. Learning to validate, show understanding as well as being compassionate and encouraging are all powerful ways to show our love and care.

We all have an influence on others and our body language and tone speak volumes. If we must assert ourselves, it should be done in the right spirit and choose our WORDS WISELY for SOME CAN NEVER BE TAKEN BACK.

It takes the power of Christ within us to control the tongue and it’s available only to those who turn their lives over to Him (Romans 8:12-14).

Peter told us to always be prepared to give an answer for the hope we have withgentleness and respect.

Dear readers, there isn’t much time left for human kind on this dying planet. It’s destruction is assured by the actions of Man and God’s judgments…His wordshave been spoken and will never change…

Eternity is awaiting us all either by Jesus’ side or in His total absence in hell. If you ask Christ to forgive your sins and surrender to Him the entire weight of your existence; only then will you fully realize what true freedom for your life is all about!

Christianity is an intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe and of mankind. It is NOT A RELIGION.

Lucie who cares!

We should dedicate a day in which we can only answer people backin conversation by using a verse from Proverbs. That particular book is hands down, well…ALMOST hands down the coolest book in the Bible. Best advice in the world for ANY given situation. Speak it and it will NOT return VOID. BELIEVE on it…Speak it…It will NOT return VOID…and it shall come to>>>>>>>>>>>PASS.

“God spoke the world into being by the power of His words (Hebrews 11:3).”

Sure, 6th century CE Greek words to be exact and translated into Hebrew. You talk about the power of words then proceed to lie your head off about the origins of your belief.

The world is billions of years old, Judaism via the political party the Pharisees began post 70 CE, after Rome wiped the Israelites off the face of Earth. Catholicism began late 4th century CE, Islam 7th century CE and Christianity from 1’500 CE.

The worlds first and oldest monodeity belief was Atenism, invented and enforced by the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep IV, c1’300 BCE, hence Pharisee, pharisaic = based on Pharaoh. ALL other beliefs are either lacking in any deities or are polytheistic. Without exception.
