Consequences for USA's Rebellion Against God -Part 2

In Part I of The Book of Psalms Gives Consequences to America’s Rebellion against God, scriptures from the Book of Psalms were used to identify the rationale for America’s postmodern troubles. Now, let’s look at some more scriptures that list consequences for the actions of Americans and their leaders in the postmodern era.

Psalm 52:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7
1 Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
2 You who practice deceit, your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor.
3 You love evil rather than good; falsehood rather than speaking the truth.
4 You love every harmful word, you deceitful tongue!
5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.
6 The righteous will see and fear; they will laugh at you, saying,
7 “Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold
but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!”

Psalm 53: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good,
not even one.
4 Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on God.
5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, where there was nothing to dread.

Psalm 55: 9, 10 and11
9 Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words, for I see violence and strife in the city.
10 Day and night they prowl about on its walls; malice and abuse are within it.
11 Destructive forces are at work in the city; threats and lies never leave its streets.

Psalm 58: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8
1 Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge people with equity?
2 No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth.
3 Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies.
4 Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears,
5 that will not heed the tune of the charmer, however skillful the enchanter may be. 6 Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; Lord, tear out the fangs of those lions!
7 Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows fall short.
8 May they be like a slug that melts away as it moves along, like a stillborn child that never sees the sun.

Psalm 59: 7 and 8
7 See what they spew from their mouths—the words from their lips are sharp as swords, and they think, “Who can hear us?”
8 But you laugh at them, Lord; you scoff at all those nations.

Psalm 62: 11 and 12 
11 One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God,
12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.”

Psalm 63: 11 
11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

Psalm 64: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9
3 They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.
4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear.
5 They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares;
they say, “Who will see it?”
6 They plot injustice and say, “We have devised a perfect plan!” Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.
7 But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down.
8 He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9 All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.

Psalm 66: 7 
7 He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations—let not the rebellious rise up against him.

Psalm 68: 1, 2 and 21 
1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—as wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God.
21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.

Psalm 75: 4 and 5
4 To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
5 Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.’”

Psalm 76: 7
7 It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?

Psalm 83: 1, 2 and 3
1 O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God.
2 See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads.
3 With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish.

Psalm 94: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11
3 How long, Lord, will the wicked, how long will the wicked be jubilant?
4 They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting.
5 They crush your people, Lord; they oppress your inheritance.
6 They slay the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless.
7 They say, “The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice.”
8 Take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?
9 Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?
10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
11 The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile.

Psalm 105: 15
15 “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.”

Psalm 115: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 
2 Why do the nations say, “Where is their God?”
3 Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
4 But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands.
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see.
6 They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell.
7 They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.

Possibly, America is one of the nations that King David was possibly depicting throughout Psalms, especially Psalms 115, verses 2-8. Secular humanistic America is definitely a postmodern nation that believes that God is hiding out in Heaven in fear of its leaders who have rebelled against Him. However, as verse 3 declares, God is in Heaven, but He could do anything He wanted to do to an adulterous, atheistic nation.

One breath out of His Holy Mouth could destroy an entire nation. One meteor that He permits to fall from the sky could destroy an entire nation. One nuclear bomb that He permits a rogue nation to drop from a plane or on the head of a missile could destroy an entire nation. One continuous shift of all the tectonic plates at one time could destroy an entire nation. One continual stoppage of rain for years by God’s almighty hand could destroy an entire nation. One continual infestation of locusts could destroy an entire nation. In other words, God, the Creator of the Universe, which includes America, could just speak it and America would be destroyed for its many sins, just like Sodom and Gomorrah.

King David throughout the Book of Psalms mentioned some of the very sins that many Americans are committing regularly, while they turn their back on God. Of course, this might just be the reason that America is coming apart at the seams, like Humpty Dumpty, socially, economically, educationally, and militarily. Also, this might just be the reason that America is in danger of losing its position as the “greatest nation in the world.” Therefore, as described in the Book of Psalms, God sees the secrets of America’s leaders and America’s citizens that they plot toward His anointed people. As a result, He will defend His glory and His true followers on the earth. Also, as stated in Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

Ultimately, let’s look at some of the words that King David, God’s anointed, uses to describe the leaders and citizens of a nation that forget God. They are as follows:

• Wicked
• Plotters
• Delusional
• Arrogant
• Prideful
• Liars
• Deceivers
• Corrupt
• Flatterers
• Foolish
• Thieves
• Slanderers
• Malice
• Abusers
• Defiant
• Cunning

Now, let’s look at how God would deal with such rebellious people, even though it would not be politically-correct.

Psalm 11: 6
6 On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.

Psalm 18: 14
14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them.

Psalm 46: 6
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

Psalm 50: 3
3 Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.

Psalm 52: 5
5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.

Psalm 55: 11 
11 Destructive forces are at work in the city; threats and lies never leave its streets.

Psalm 64: 7 and 8
7 But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down.
8 He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.

Psalm 68: 21
21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.

Therefore, as stated in Psalms, those nations that forget God and those nations who persecute His anointed followers will have to encounter His judgment and wrath. But, more specifically, in Psalms 149: 4-9, God details what He, along with His anointed followers, would do during the Millennial Reign, when the earth would have 1000 years of peace with Jesus Christ as the head of a world-wide government. It reads,
4 For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
5 Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.
6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,
7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,
9 to carry out the sentence written against them—this is the glory of all his faithful people.
